Book 2 Chapter 17

Daeira absentmindedly looked outside her window, ignoring the cackling of her stepsisters  down below along with her stepmother. The rain drops hitting the leaves of the trees outside seemed to be fascinating to her eyes right now. The sky was darkening when it was only three in the afternoon. 

It was the doing of the dark clouds and the heavy outpour of the rain outside. Nevertheless,  there was that presence of one sole black falcon in one of the branch of the tree.

That black bird again.

Its eyes filled only with pure scarlet in color and its feathers were obviously drenched with  rain but it seemed unfazed as it only looked at her straight in the eyes.

Instead of being scared, she felt very familiar with it. Maybe it was due to the fact that rain  or shine, it always visited her.
