The ringing doorbell woke me up from my deep slumber. I grumbled and shifted to the other side of the bed, trying to pin my ears on the soft pillow to avoid hearing the vile sound. I don’t remember changing the alert tone of my doorbell. So who the hell set it into a car honk?!
“Juno… get the door, please.” I croaked out before attempting to give her a kick. My foot landed on the empty space beside me so I slightly panicked. I turned back on the other side and my eyes widened when I didn’t see Juno lying in there.
