CHAPTER 19 – Unexpectedly

Lumaro checked out at the lodging house by three o’clock in the morning. He hailed a cab and asked the driver to bring him to the airport. He is excited; quite excited as he boarded the aircraft, which will bring him to the country where the Albaya province can be found. Six hours or more and he will be stepping his feet to the place where he will be meeting his mate at last.
He sat on the aircraft silently and when it started to move, Lumaro closed his eyes with lips twisting with such a smile full of hope and excitement.
Most probably he fell asleep for an hour when turbulence hit their aircraft making it swayed drastically, waking him up.
He straightened his sitting position and glanced at the young woman beside him. “What is happening Miss?” he asked furrowing.
The young woman faced him and her eyes suddenly fluttered with mouth gaping with words. “Oh… we … we’re hit by turbulence but we are fine,” she even stammered.

I “Friend, Mariella; Lumaro here will be going to Albaya too and this is his first time here in our country. So, I took the liberty to invite him to just come along with me. I will just drop him off in a hotel in the city.” Leslie informed her friend, whose eyebrows raised upon hearing her friend’s statement. “Ms. Mariella, Ms. Leslie, it is okay; I will just find a cab to bring me to Albaya. Do you know of a hotel or lodging house where I can stay in Albaya?” Lumaro interrupted when he saw the reaction of Leslie’s friend, whom she called as Mariella. “Mariella?” Leslie faced her friend and gave her a warning look. “Oh, alright Lumaro, it is better for you to come along with Leslie, for safety purposes, and then she will just drop you off at Triple K Hotel in the City,” Mariella replied nonchalantly. If not for her friendship, that she has for Leslie, she will not even entertain this moron-like man, even if he looks handsome and well, hmm, yummy.

I “My Luna!” Lumaro jumped from his bed and came near the television, watching intently the news. The news flash states:“The currently crowned Miss Albaya, Ms. Grazziena Rillana’s refusal to represent the Province in the National Pageant gave so much frustration to her supporters and the people of Albaya as a whole. The question now is whether Miss Albaya; Grazziena Rillana would still change her mind before the Ms. Albaya Pageant organizers will formalize their announcement that her First Runner-up will replace her to represent the Province in the National Pageant. I Grazziena’s last subject ended at five o’clock in the afternoon. Exactly that she checked her phone when Governor Draeko’s message popped out. “Sweetheart, my driver is on his way to fetch you. Wait for him near the gate of your university. Take care and see you.” This is the message of Governor Draeko to Grazziena. She replied, “Alright Sweetheart, I will wait. See you.” Five minutes after, Grazziena received a message again from Draeko telling her that his driver is nearby. She quickly walked going outside of their University and stood on the waiting shed, beside the University’s gate. Suddenly, Grazziena noticed a man across the street looking at her intensely. The man is tall, good-looking, and with a well-built body. She tried to remember where she saw him because his face seemed familiar. After a moment, the man smiled dashingly and waved at her. Grazziena furrowed. She did not know him although she seemed to be familiar with his aura.
