Everything that happens in your life is to prepare you, metal has to go through fire to melt and turn into a sword. I'm thinking that Alexander is being melted, being moulded into a stronger person. This burning from the fire shall pass and he will find rest for sure. 

When we are in outside of the loop, we can easily say that I can handle things. But actually when we are in inside of the loop, then only we can understand how much difficulties are there to handle this type of situations. 

I can imagine a 12 year old kid, who saw a blast, who wept by seeing the dead bodies of his parents, who struggled to live, who pretended to have a happy life in front of the media. 

Alexander been through a lot, he had bear the toughest childhood. He saw things that no child was not supposed to see.  Yet he pretend like a powerful man, with all the bitter things buried in his heart.
