Chapter 7: Close The Door

"I'm sorry, what are you talking about?" Exclaimed by the man who was called Frank earlier.

"My marriage to Crystal is absolutely legal, which means ours isn't." He turned his gaze back to the woman. "And neither is my contract. Read the file print. As I said, unless we're married, my S.C gift to you is void. But because you didn't include anything like that in your deal, Spencers Co. and 25% of the Villareal's Aircraft remain all mine..."

The woman fell silent and the only thing she can do is to stare at the floor as if she had lost the fight before she turned her back and walks out of the room.

"How come you didn't tell me about your plans?" Frank asked enraged.

"I tried to, but you were too preoccupied thinking of your own survival. It's done now, Father. So just take the win and walk away."

The man they called Frank turns out to be his father.

His dad walked out slowly with both hands raised.

When his father finally came out, this man I married also walked away.

It was only then that I turned my head to look at the one next to me.

"Can you at least explain to me what just happened?" I whispered to Sybil.

"Do you really need to know more? Besides you're already leaving tomorrow since your work here is done, isn't it more important that you didn't sell drugs?" He whispered back to me, laughing.

I simply rolled my eyes at him and began to exit the room.

I'll just go and look for the man I married, so I could ask him what should I do next.

I still kept on lifting and pulling down my dress, it's just too uncomfortable for me to wear.

"Hey Crystal, I was just looking for you." I was startled by the sudden appearance of a man on my face.

It was the same person who had previously sat in front of me.

What exactly does he want?

I opened my mouth to say something, but before I could utter a word, something in the distance caught my attention.

I suddenly found what I was looking for.

He was in another room, although the door wasn't particularly wide open, I could see him from here.

I simply shoved this man out of the way and kept walking towards the large door. When I already reached it, I pushed open the door even further to see what was inside.

He was eating, but he was alone in this wide room with an enormous table filled with food. He's eating like a bird, can he even eat all of this?

"Hey, why are you alone here?"

He just gave me a cold, emotionless stare.

"We really should stop meeting like this." I decided to just sit on a chair a few feet away from him.

We always meet like this, with him being lonely and sad, then refusing to talk and just staring at me.

Something seemed to suddenly enter my mind that I remembered to ask him.

"Hey, could you please tell me your name?" He lowered his spoon and turned slightly to face me. "It's not that I'm very interested okay, but only because I want to stop calling you as uh... T-The guy I just m-married." I averted my gaze from him out of embarrassment.

It's the truth, it's difficult for me to address him by that name.

"That's such a long name." He looked at me as though he was about to burst out laughing.

"I know. That's why I am asking for your name, so tell me." I said with my round eyes fixed on him. I just really wanted to know his name.

"Key."

My jaw dropped at what he said.

"Ch- Uh... Zayn." He smirked.

"What...?" I can sense that he's holding back his laugh.

"I said, my name is Key Zayn. Why?" He turned his attention back to what he was eating and picked up his spoon again.

"A-Are you kidding?" I couldn't believe it, he wasn't even looking at me but I'm still staring directly at him.

"You asked me, and I answered." He shrugged his shoulders.

"So you're telling me that I guessed it all correctly? I mean—exactly!?"

"I think so." He was obviously grinning so it's hard to tell if he's telling the truth. But dang, if he is, then I... am such a genius.

"You didn't peek or eavesdrop on the hotel, did you?" His grins widened even more.

"Alright blonde, do you have anything more to say because I have some more important things to do." He changed the topic rather than answering my question.

But, thankfully, I remembered that I had a follow-up question for him."First and foremost, my name is Crystal Harrison and not blonde—" I persisted despite his lack of interest in what I had to say. "And I'd like to know what I should do next." Only there he gave me his attention.

"You have to meet me again tomorrow, and sign the papers."

My eyes widened at what I heard.

"What papers do I have to sign again? I- I don't want to repeat my mistake."

He chuckled.

"Annulment papers. Our marriage will be annulled if we file annulment documents. It will erase our marriage just like we didn't get married at all."

I wanted to be contented about what I heard because the craziness was finally over, but a tiny part of my chest ached for some unexplained reason. "Ah... All right— well, that's great." An awkward chuckle escaped my lips.

I'm not sure why I'm feeling this way. "Can I go home now, or... do I have anything else to do in here?" One corner of his lip gradually lifted.

"Close the door."

My feet grew cold at what he said. It felt as if all of my blood had risen to the top of my head.

"W-w-what..?"

"I said, close the door." He said it again, using the same tone of voice he used when he let me down in the car earlier.

"Ok-kay..." I closed my eyes tightly before walking slowly towards the door.

He just looked straight at me, watching every move I make.

I know that money isn't easy to come by, and I won't be able to get it in just by signing papers.

I understand that everything has a cost. I'm just not sure I'm capable of doing it right now.

I thought he was a bit different, he's just like any other man who only want pleasure from a girl even when they already have a relationship.

He followed me with a look that made my body hairs stand even more.

I slowly closed the door before I hesitantly face him again. I got scared of his cold eyes that hadn't been like that earlier.

"Why did you closed it?" I was shocked by his question.

"Y-You told me to c-close the door." I couldn't understand what he wanted to happen.

"Close the door... when you leave." He laughed at me, which made me realize everything.

It's as if his laughs gave a lot of chunks of ice at the top and it falls on my head.

When I regained consciousness, I quickly opened the door and went out.

He seemed to laugh even harder because his deep voice seemed to come out and echoed out of the room.

I quickened my pace to get out of this house. I badly want to go home.

I'm just going to look for Sybil so I can get a drive because I don't know how to go home alone.

My only problem is that this house is too big and crowded.

It will be a lot of work to find him here.

"Crystal!" I was stopped by someone calling me from a distance.

An old lady walks towards me; she is absolutely glamorous even at her age, and she seemed to be slightly older than my mother.

But I'm pretty sure that I never met her, so why does she know my name?

"Congratulations on landing Liam, that was a great catch." She gave me a friendly smile and raised the glass of wine she was carrying.

"Excuse me, who?" I don't know what she's talking about.

"Liam Spencer. Your husband." she clarified.

"I'm sorry ma'am, my husband named Key Zayn." I even used my hand to wave in front of her to deny what she said.

"Key Zayn? Oh, sweetheart, there is no Key Zayn in here. Plus, it was just announced that you married Liam Spencer and-"

"I'm sorry, I have to go." I passed her and started to walked away again.

I can't believe that man.

I tried to be kind to him even though his behavior was no longer acceptable sometimes because I tried to understand the situation he was going through.

But despite all of it, he lied to me.

I hate him.

When I got outside I was like a lost child. How can I go home without a car, everyone here is going home using their own vehicle.

Maybe I'll just sit here next to their house on the floor. I will just wait for Sybil to find me.

When I sit down, I adjusted my dress so that I could sit neatly unseen and whatever I was hiding inside won't come out without my permission.

I took a deep breath before exhaling everything including whatever I feel in my chest.

I just decided to look all around, this place is wonderful. It's getting dark but I can still see the flowers and plants around.

I suddenly remembered the house of the old lady that has a lot of flowers, I already miss picking one of those.

I giggled.

I also notice that this place has no neighbors, it is still a long way to go before you can get from the gate.

It will be hard for me if I just walk.

I just now remembered to look at my phone, Trina might text me. I'm sure she's been worried about me.

I grabbed my phone and opened it to see nothing. I was disappointed to see that there was no signal here, the house is enormous but there's no signal? Where on earth are we?

I put down my phone and decided to just look around. Gradually, the number of cars out here is decreasing. They probably will just go home because the wedding is over.

The cars are beautiful and they are all in different colors, I hope one day I can buy a similar luxurious car like them.

"Huh?" I stood up in shock.

Did Sybil already go home too? The car I had ridden before was also gone.

He didn't even remember to take me home.

He never said he would drive me anyway.

If I'll continue to stay here waiting outside, then it will only get worse and I might get home really late.

I scrubbed my clothes to remove the dirt that clung to them because every passing car seemed to throw dirt on me.

I also tried to look behind me to see if there was any dirt on it. After I cleaned myself, I rotated my legs to relax them because I felt a little pain.

I'll just start walking and who knows what time will it be when I finally get to the gate.

I already started to walk and have accepted the fate of my feet with these painful sandals.

I sighed.

I really hope there would be a taxi there.

"Hey!"

I was distracted when someone suddenly called me.

My eyes were dazzled by the light of the car and I had a hard time seeing who was calling me.

"Get in the car."
