Albert sat in the car and waited patiently. Velma had already told him everything that happened to her mother and her suspicion. He promised to start his investigation after the new year.
At the cemetery, the father and daughter pair stood facing each other. No one broke the silence even after a long period of time has passed.
"What happened that day..." Martin broke the silence.
"There is no need to explain. You made your choice back then and I respect that." Velma cut him off coldly.
"You could have at least stayed and said something. Not only did you leave me in the hospital with nothing, you did not care even if I died or lived."
"I had only given birth some few hours earlier. I was too weak to even walk. Not only did you not settle the bill, but also disappeared."
"Do you know if not for Albert, I will be long dead together with my baby. He saved me and took me in without asking anything or without wanting something in return."
