Drake

Drake

__FLASHBACK__

Two days earlier.

“What did you find?”  Dad asked.

“They were hunters but not human,”  I answered.

“They were what Drazian has created,”  Dray adds.

We had caught a few of the creatures and killed the rest.  They had come onto our land chasing after something or someone.  They are vile creatures.  They had been created by a hybrid.  He was half-dragon and half-vampire.  He has been capturing all rare and powerful supernatural species for years now.  His favourite target is the rare and powerful gemstone dragons.  He has been capturing other supernatural beings and experimenting with them.  He is pure evil

__FLASHBACK END__

There had been creatures seen at the borders of our land, so the two of us, Silas, Killian, Dazriel, and our warriors, went to see what was going on.  It was clear that they were after something or someone and that being had crossed our border.  None of us had been able to sense anything other than dragons, so I assumed that whoever it was was a dragon shifter.  I knew mom and dad were anxious about their friend’s son coming into town.  As they had explained, he is a very rare and powerful gemstone dragon and him and his family had been hunted for years. I am guessing it was him who crossed our border to escape those bastards.  Dray and I were on our way back when the most intoxicating scent caught both of us off guard.

“Do you smell that?”  Dray asked.

“Yes, I do,”  I answered.

I took another deep breath, and the fresh ocean and lime scent assaulted my senses in the best way possible.  My dragon was jumping around like an excited puppy in my head, giving me one hell of a headache.  I could tell by the way Dray was holding his head that his dragon Grendel was behaving the same way.

(What are you so excited about?)-Me

(Mate, follow the scent and lead us to mate)-Haldor

(Are you sure?)-Me

(Yes, find our mate)-Haldor

“Grendel says that scent belongs to our mate.”  Dray states.

“Haldor says the same thing,”  I replied.

It is not unusual for shifter twins or triplets to share the same mate.  However, it is rare that dragons have true twins, so no one is sure how the whole mate thing would work for us.  I guess we just found out.  We followed the scent, but it led us to the lake, and whoever the scent belonged to was here not too long ago since her scent was still strong.  Whoever was here had left in a hurry.  However, the scent continues to waft towards town, so at least we know where she went.

“Have you interrogated any of them yet?”  I asked dad.

“No, but the king has arrived and is going to talk to them tomorrow,”  Dad answered.

I looked at Dray.  This must be important if it brought the king here.  This also means that he will be staying with us.  Our clan is the official clan of the king.  We guard the palace and are its top warriors and enforcers.  The king also happens to be dad’s older cousin Travian.  I hear the door slam, and I know it’s him that has walked in.  I can tell by his aura and scent.  The two of us turned around to be engulfed in a tight hug as we heard a giggle.

“Hello, King Travian and Queen Salaria,”  Dray says.

“Smartass, you know better than to use our titles in private. I thought you taught these boys better.”  Travian says to dad.

“They just like to piss you off.”  Dad points out.

Before any kind of fight or wrestling match can start, mom calls everyone for dinner.  She is standing there with her hands on her hips and giving us the “look”.  I see Travian shutter, and I agree.  Mom might be half our size, but she can still kick our asses.  None of us wants to piss her off.  Dinner goes well, and Valanya tells us about her new roommate.  She tells us that she has known her for a couple of years and that she is a very sweet girl that has been through hell in her life.  She does ask us if we can show her around as she will be attending our school as this is her last year.  It is weird, but I sometimes vaguely catch our mate’s scent on Valanya.  I shake it off and finish dinner.

Dray and I are standing beside our car in the school’s parking lot when I catch that scent again.  I look around, but I don’t see anyone new.  I do, however, see Chelsea, and I cringe.  For some reason, she has it in her head that she is going to be our mate and luna.  Yeah, that is not happening since we found our mate.  Neither of us likes her, but we are nice to her because she is Killian’s sister.  He is going to be our gamma, but his father is our head warrior and trainer.  Chelsea can’t fight for shit, but it is our school's queen bee.  She is also the school slut along with her little barbie group, as they are known.

“Please don’t let her come over here,”  Silas whispers.

The four of us start walking into the school as Chelsea, and her group head towards us until they see Dazriel walk up.  Silas whispers thank you, lord.  I laugh at him, but I think that is something.  Silas is going to be our beta since his father is our father’s beta.  Dray and I had just sat down in our seats for our first class when that fresh ocean and lime scent smacked me in the face.  I look up, and into the most beautiful set of clear silvery blue eyes, I have ever seen.  Standing in the doorway is a girl that I am guessing might come up to midchest on me.  This means that she is around 5’4” or so.  She has long hair that starts out black at the top and fades to almost an iridescent white at the bottom.  She has curves in all the right places, and I want nothing more than to bend her over and claim her now.  Looking over at Dray, I can tell that he is thinking the same thing.  She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.

-It’s her-Dray

-I know-Me

-She is gorgeous-Dray

-Yes, she is perfect-Me

I was excited when the teacher told her to take a seat.  I knew the only seat available was between Dray and me.  I could see her hesitation, but she walked over and sat down between us.  I looked at Dray and knew he was thrilled, just like I was.  Her scent was making my head all cloudy.  She didn’t look at us the entire class.  I could see her trying to pretend that we weren’t affecting her, but I could tell we were.  This had me concerned that she would reject us.  She bolted out of the class as soon as the bell rang.  I was a little bummed when she didn’t show up in the cafeteria at lunch.  Neither Dray nor I had her in any of our remaining classes.  We waited in our car after school, hoping to catch sight of her, but that proved pointless.  I knew our parents could tell something was off with us that night, but neither of us was in the mood to talk about it.  Neither of us could figure out why she was acting this way.  Even our dragons had no clue as to what was going on.  Hopefully, over these next few days, we could talk to her and figure out what the issue was.
