Drake

Drake

It is Friday, and we still haven’t been able to find Ty.  I just about lost it when we came down and couldn’t find her.  I knew our little mate was special but didn’t realize how special.  I was shocked when dad told us what kind of dragon she was.  She doesn’t look like what the books describe a black opal dragon to look like.  He did explain that it is because of her parents and their heritage.  I think the fact she doesn’t look like what is described has helped her.  I think something or someone has also helped her stay hidden this long.

“Killian says that he hasn’t seen her but that he is positive that she is still in his class.  He says there is this kid that sits in the front corner that never removes the hood on their hoodie.  He thinks that this is her.”  Dray explains.

“That would make sense as to why we can smell her but we are not even able to get a visual on her.  She is keeping herself hidden.”  I add.

I rub my face with my hand.  This week has been hell.  Both Dray and I have hardly slept, and not knowing where Ty is staying has our dragons on edge.  Chelsea started running her mouth yesterday, and Dray almost snapped her neck. I know someone knows where she is staying, and I need to find this person.  Silas saw a car pick her up the day she left, but he couldn’t see who was driving it.  I had thought about checking Valanya’s apartment, but I knew she wouldn’t go back there.  That would be the first place we would look; I knew she knew that.  Our little mate is smart.  She had to be to avoid getting caught this long.  I am still pissed that he wants her.  He is not going to touch her if Dray and I have anything to do about it.  Dad called Travian and told him what had happened.  He also knew her parents and would be here today to help look for her.  He wanted to send a few of his trackers out searching for her, but mom told him no.  She said that would scare her more and might cause her to run.  I know mom meant that it might cause her to leave town.  Dray and I were both hurt that she would want to run from us, but then our mom explained that she hadn’t really been able to trust anyone but her parents.

“She has never had anyone that she could trust.”  Dazriel states.

“I know but we are her mates,”  Dray says.

“Remember though that we could easily be the type to use her as well.  She is protecting herself.  Mom and dad might be friends of her parents but she still doesn't know who she can truly trust.”  I point out.

Dray agrees, and I see him staring at something. I look and see her friend Reyna across the hall at her locker.  I know Ty’s locker is beside her, which is why we long wait here.  We are trying to catch her so we can talk to her, but we always miss her.  We walk over to Reyna and stand behind her.  I can see her tense up as she turns around.  This makes me very suspicious that she knows something.

“Reyna, you by chance wouldn’t know where Ty is at?”  I asked.

“Sorry Alpha’s but I haven’t seen her today.  She told me this morning that she wasn’t feeling good.”  Reyna answers.

I can tell that she is telling the truth to an extent.  I think she knows where Ty is, but she is telling us that she is not at school today.  I am instantly worried as to why she isn’t at school.  I know that neither Dray nor I have slept well this whole week.  We both have felt horrible being away from her.  I bet she is feeling the same way.  The bond makes you want to be with your mate.  Fighting the bond causes all sorts of pain and makes the mates suffer.

“We have to find her,”  I tell Dray.

“We will even if we have to tear this town apart,”  Dray growls.

Silas, Killian, and Dazriel tell us that they will help us find her.  I know Dazriel is worried about her.  Ty has been texting her, but she refuses to talk to Dazriel about us and what is going on.  Killian has been checking the local MMA gyms and found out that she works out at one of them, but they haven’t seen her in a couple of days.  I head to class, but I can barely focus at this point.  Thankfully it is my last class; then I can go home and see if dad or Travian have found out anything regarding Ty.

“I am pretty sure I smelled Ty’s scent on Reyna during class.”  Dray states.

“I knew she was hiding her,”  I comment.

We wait for Reyna by her locker, but she never shows up.  Damn it, I think as we walk out to our car.  We have both tried calling and texting, but she won’t answer them.  I know she is getting them.  I saw mom’s car out in the driveway as I pulled in.  This in itself is strange.  Mom hates to drive, so we both know that something is up.  The two of us climb out and walk into the house.  I can hear mom talking to someone in the living room.  When I see who it is, I stop dead in my tracks.  There stands Ty, and she looks exhausted.  Mom turns around to see us.  I hear someone behind us, and I look over my shoulder to see Dad and Travian standing there, staring at Ty as well.

“Before any of you get mad let her explain why she acted the way she did.”  Mom states.

“Why’d you leave?”  Dad asked.

“I have already gotten my parents killed. I don’t want to be responsible for any of you getting hurt or worse.  I don’t need any more guilt on my shoulders.  I am a danger to anyone who is around me.  I mean I already brought danger to Valanya and I feel terrible about that.” Ty cries.

“Ty, none of this is your fault.  Your parents knew you would be special from the moment your mother found out she was pregnant.  While it is true that they didn’t expect you to be a black opal dragon they knew what this meant.”  Dad tells her.

“I do have one question though.  When those guys broke into the apartment they said that it didn’t look like he was there.  Who were they talking about.?”  She asked.

I see mom smile, and I know she has the answer to this.  Mom explains that she was present the night Ty was born, as was her uncle, a doctor.  Mom says that the three of them knew exactly what kind of dragon she was as soon as she was born, and they saw the mark.

“My uncle created two birth certificates for you.  One has your parent’s names on it and you are listed as a male child with the name Tye.  On the other official birth certificate, your parents used their full names, including their dragon names, and you are listed as a female child with the name Tylia.  We did that so if anyone was to find out about you that they would look for a boy and not a girl.”  Mom explained.

“That was fucking brilliant, but if the books are true a male black opal dragon never survives more than a week after birth.”  Travian says.

"This is true but all that we know is from books.  No one has ever seen a male black opal dragon so no one can say for sure if that is true or not."  Mom points out.

Travian introduces himself, and Ty’s eyes get huge.  I don’t think she was expecting to meet the king.  She tries to be all formal, but he tells her that she is family and that she can call him Travian.  I still can’t believe that her mother and ours came up with an idea like that.  Travian explains that she is under the protection of his kingdom and that she is safe here.  Dad tells her that she is part of this family now since she is our mate.  Ty still hasn’t looked at us and says that she wants to take a shower to refresh herself.

“How and where did you find her?”  I asked.

“I found the car that picked her up.  It was Reyna’s mother’s car.”  Mom says.

“I knew Reyna knew something,”  Dray grumbles.

Mom tells us not to be mad at Reyna because she was helping her friend.  I honestly don’t care as long as my little gem is here now.  We walk up the stairs to our room, but she is not there, and neither is her stuff.  We walk back out into the hallway, and I catch her scent coming from the room across from ours.  I turn the knob, and it opens.  I can hear the shower running, so we take a seat.  I am sitting on the bed while Dray sits on the couch across from me.  She is shocked to see us waiting for her when she walks out of the bathroom.

Wow a little space please, they should at least wait for her in their room to finish her shower. But understandable since she always runs away.
