“ And how did you come to this conclusion? Surely, you didn’t decide to believe me after everything. ” He lets out a sarcastic laugh, his head tilted to the side.
I push my hair behind my ear, my eyes flickering as I find it difficult to look at him.
“ Darius and…Sara, his sister…They told me the same thing you did. ” I mumble under my breath as my face heats up.
“ So you believed him when he told you everything? ” He asks, his voice sounding dangerous to me.

Taking the courage, I look up at Cain. He is staring me down, the rage burning in his eyes.
