“ It’s not like he didn’t deserve it. ” I mutter, unable to hold myself back.
He looks up at me and smiles grimly. I shake my head at him, my palm still held close to his lips.
“ But I think…he already got punished for his mistake, Cain. ” I sigh to myself, grief seeping into my heart.
He understands what I am talking about. Matthew’s mate died right in front of his eyes, he couldn’t get more extreme punishment than this.
