Raging Currents

As the children yelled, the villagers disregarded them and immediately began firing.

As it began to flee, arrows shot out from the village, striking the bloody serpent several times. The sapilisk had broken scales, and the arrows, which had been useless before, had now pierced through.

Despite their bony bodies, they shot arrows at the serpent one after the other. With their skeleton frames, they resembled dead men walking, but their eyes burned with fierce rage towards the gigantic creature.

The sapilisk slithered into the woodland, disappearing into the shadows, with one shrieking hiss.

"It's seriously injured!" One of the locals yelled, "Chase it!

"Everyone, follow me to the serpent's lair!"

The villagers began streaming out of the breached wall, all armed with bows and quivers. They were all panting, as though even moving was painful.

"If you go after it, all of you will die," I spoke up at that point.
