Guilt hits me, hard. I know it was a shitty move to mark her to get her to shut op and comply, but I didn’t think about the consequences at that time. If she just listened, or at least didn’t fight back that hard, I wouldn’t have let myself go too that point of no return.

If what just happened in the hallway gives me any indication on what the future will hold, she will make the house come down when she comes by. I just hope she will eventually understand why I did what I did, that’s enough, I can work with understanding.

Teresa senses my inner turmoil. “Don’t worry too much about it, the bond will do its work.” She tucks the book under her arm again and faces me. “The nurse will be here any minute to clean Adriana’s bandages, I will evaluate with her what is the best course to clean her blood.” Teresa walks out the door, leaving me with my thoughts.
