Chapter Sixty-seven

" Y-yes?" I stammer.

" Ma'am you only have three days to get the money for the surgery or else... She pauses and sighs. We might not be able to save her." She states.

My room was always filled with the echoes of honking car horns and distinct noises of new york city, suddenly in those brief seconds as I hold the phone in my left ear and listening to the doctor without a word. The only thing that encompass my room is an eerie lull which sent a cold shiver and skepticism running down gently in my spine.

Could this be a malediction in my fate, why does despair often knocks at my door each time there is a ray of hope and happiness in my life? 

" Amanda! Amanda! " suddenly I could hear Sam's voice calling out to me as I slowly wipe my tears and look up, our gaze meets.
