Chapter 5

Alissa woke up, looking at the alarm clock at 7:15. She quickly got up from her bed and took a shower. She wrapped the towel around her body and opened her closet. She was fiddling with her clothes, still thinking about what to wear. She finally decided to wear a black v-neck top and a white pencil skirt. Her hair are naturally curly, so she just did a little bit of touch up in that and made them look presentable.

She wore a smoking eyeshadow and light pink lipgloss. She looked at the time 8:10. She quickly planted a kiss on her sister's cheek.

"All the best" Jade said.

"Thanks" Alissa smiled and went downstairs, and quickly locked the door with the spare key. She sat in a cab and told that driver the place. After 20 minutes, she reached there. She paid the amount and went inside the company. There was a receptionist, who was chewing gum. She was not looking much bothered about what was happening around her.

She went towards her and asked politely "Where is Mr Eric Williams's cabin? I have an interview"

The receptionist looked at her and looked at her attire. She smirked and said "I hope he could do better than this, anyways, floor 44 down the corridor on the left"

Alissa frowned and thought to fight back but didn't want to create drama so she let it go. She stepped inside the elevator and pressed the 44-floor button.

Ding!!!

She stepped out of the elevator and went down the corridor. On the left was a door, on top of it was written 'Eric Williams' and on down of it 'CEO'. She saw there were some chairs, she sat on it and thought to go inside now or wait for some moments. Suddenly, Josh who was passing by from there stopped and looked at Alissa. He went towards her and said politely "Can I help this pretty lady in any way?"

Alissa looked up at him and said "Yeah, I came for the interview, can I go in there now?"

"That receptionist, haven't told you that you can go inside"

Alissa shook her head in no.

Josh scrunched his eyebrows and said "Surely, she only knows how to wink at men and criticize women, anyways, just a minute I'll go inside and ask him. Wait here"

He went inside and a few moments later, he came out of the cabin and said "You can go there. All the best. He may make you feel like he is arrogant and all but still he is a nice guy" Josh said.

Alissa smiled and said "Thanks" he winked at her and left.

She knocked on the door and a raspy and professional voice came "Come in"

She opened the door and saw that a man was sitting on the chair. She couldn't see his face because his chair was turned around. She stared at the back of his chair. Only his head was visible. Hair nicely slit back.

"Are you just going to stand there and stare huh?" He harshly said.

She jumped a bit and quickly went towards the chair in front of the table. He turned around and Alissa was kinda got blown away by his looks.

She sat on the chair. Eric looked at her. She was looking good enough for an interview. She was just looking at his face. Memorizing his features. Blue eyes, perfectly shaped lips, his hair were looking so silky.

"So Alissa Lawrence" She was brought back to reality.

"As you know the first impression is the last impression and you've already given me your first impression and that is to get lost in your own little world all the time" he said rudely.

"No, it's no-" She got cut off by Eric saying

"And on top of that, you have to argue" Eric said in a harsh voice.

He huffed and started reading the information about Alissa written on his computer.

"Okay, so you have written you are a fast learner. Is it so?" Eric asked.

She smiled and nodded. She realised it was stupid to smile.

She made a serious face. Actually tried to make a serious face.

"Umm....you worked in a restaurant. For 3 years. Can you guarantee that you will not leave the job?" He asked with a serious face.

"Yes" Alissa answered confidently.

"Why should I keep you as my personal secretary?" He asked, emphasising the word 'you'.

"Umm....as you already know I am a fast learner. I like to take responsibilities. I am a calm headed girl. I am not a sassy little diva" Alissa said, nervous that she might have said something wrong.

Eric stared at her and said "You can go, we will call you if you'll get the job"

Alissa stood up from her seat and left the company.

Eric was a little amused. He never saw a girl like this. He was sitting on his chair, recalling the lines Alissa said 'I am not a sassy little diva'

He let out a small laugh. "Interesting girl" he said to himself, getting up from the chair and going to the cafe.
