Chapter 6

After the interview, Alissa headed to her favourite cafe. She always comes here when she wants to clear her mind. She was standing in the waiting line. Suddenly, she saw a man entering the cafe. It was her ex-boss. Yeah, the one in the restaurant.

She suddenly felt scared, as he never leaves any chance of humiliating her in front of the whole world. Though, there were only a few people. He was coming towards her and she started to panic. She rapidly turned around to get out of line and bumped into someone, and the person's coffee fell on the ground.

She swapped her head up and her eyes widened.

Eric Williams

Today, maybe was not her day. He looked at her with deathly glares.

"Are you bloody blind or what?" He asked through gritted teeth.

"I-I am so sorry" Alissa stuttered. She knew she has made a mess.

Most of the people were looking at her. Her ex-boss was smirking at her. Alissa's eyes filled with tears.

"I am sorry. I will pay you for your coffee" Alissa said to Eric.

"No need to do that. Little clumsy girl" he said harshly.

One tear fell from her eye. Why everything is going wrong with me today? She thought.

Eric passed from her and her ex-boss came towards her. He laughed at her face and said "Poor girl. Making a fool of herself in front of the public"

Alissa ignored him and went outside the cafe. She saw Eric standing near his car. He looked up at her, she looked away but a voice stopped her "Lawrence"

She looked at Eric. He gestured her to come towards her. She went near him.

"Are you always so clumsy?" He asked. "I mean, you came for the interview and you were all, I guess, was flattered by my good looks"

He said with an attitude. She just looked down feeling embarrassed.

She stood there but when he did not say anything she realised that she has been dismissed. She turned around and went to her house.

Jade came jumping towards her and hugged her tightly. "How was the interview?"

"Not so good, he was arrogant" Alissa said with a sad tone.

"It's fine. But tell me was he good looking?" Jade asked with curiosity in her voice. Alissa blushed and nodded. "Aww, Alissa finally liked someone" Jade teased her.

"No, not at all. I am not even going to see him again. Cause, I am not getting the job" Alissa said.

"Hey, just believe in yourself" Jade tried to cheer her up. Alissa just gave her a weak smile and said "I love you"

"I love you too sis"

The day passed by and at night when they were having their dinner Jade suddenly asked "It's important to have parents right?" Jade never asked this kind of question before.

She felt that Jade was missing someone in her life. "It's important cause they provide you with cool stuff and earn money for your good education" Jade continued.

Alissa sighed and said "Jade I know that you miss mom and dad. You know, I tell you one thing, some people face difficult stages in their lives but that does not mean we let ourselves feel down. God only give problems to those who are strong enough to face them. Secondly, you said money. Money is important but it is not everything. What important is love. I love you with all my heart and I will provide you with every good thing. So, don't be sad. Okay" Alissa told her, Jade's eyes were filled with tears.

It happened very few times that she missed mom and dad. After that, Jade went to bed and Alissa prayed to God to help her find a good job, very soon.

Cause she knew somewhere in her heart that she is not getting the job at 'Williams Enterprises'
