"Alpha, Alpha Greg has arrived." Wren thought to Kalen, Kalen shut the pack file on his desk and looked up at the alphas of the branch packs of dark moon sitting in his office.
"The state of your finances are relatively okay, but for dark moon, okay is just not good enough. I want a 30% increase in your annual income before the year runs out." Kalen said in his usual monotone, the branch alphas exchanged glances at Kalen's words."What? You can't do it?, 50% increase before the year runs out, if you cannot achieve this, you can hand over your position as Alpha immediately." Kalen dismissed coldly. The branch alphas winced but knowing anymore words would be useless, they swallowed down their reluctance and bowed in acceptance of Kalen's orders, rising to their feet and leaving Kalen's office quietly.Kalen calmed his anger at their incompetence, it was clear they could do better, they had all the resources and the skills, they just couldn't be bothered to do better, satisfied with being just a little above average.Kalen could not accept that, if you worked under alpha Kalen, it was either you gave your best or you left the job to someone more effective. The dark moon pack due to it's mass population was divided into 5 branch packs apart from the main pack Kalen presided over. The 5 branch packs were each governed by an Alpha who reported directly to Kalen on all affairs of the pack, apart from that, the dark moon pack also had numerous smaller packs which although were independent packs, they were under the protection of dark moon."Send him in." Kalen thought to Wren, referring to alpha Greg.Alpha Greg was the alpha of one of such independent packs under Kalen's protection and alpha Greg himself could be considered to be one of Kalen's few confidants.Kalen's door was pushed open after a knock and in came a grinning Greg, walking in the odd swagger he usually did, as if he owned the world, he pushed back a strand of his blonde hair and flashed Kalen a wink.Kalen fixed a blank look on Greg to which Greg pouted before taking a seat in Kalen's office like he owned the place."You know Greg, one of these days, I'll get tired of ignoring your stupidity and rip your head off..." Kalen said calmly, Greg chuckled at Kalen's words."I missed you too Kalen." Greg said happily, Kalen turned his blank gaze away from Greg, deciding there was nothing he could do about Greg's silly nature.Kalen couldn't kill him either, alpha Greg might not look it, but he was actually one of the most efficient alphas serving under Kalen, hence Greg was still quite useful...at least for now. However soon enough, Kalen believed Greg's stupidity would outweigh his usefulness, and then Kalen would be glad to make good on his promise, Kalen said a silent prayer for Greg's soul in advance."First things first, what's the status of your borders? Any rogue sightings?" Kalen asked, going straight to business. Greg's expression also turned serious as they delved into business."Not much, one or two here and there but they never come close enough to cause concern, after the purging you led 13 years ago, they have remained away from pack territory." Greg replied, Kalen frowned but nodded."As they should, however the frequent sightings are becoming a little disturbing, I find myself suspicious... make sure to keep a close eye on this." Kalen instructed, Greg nodded in understanding."It won't do us any harm to be cautious, I will inform the alphas to keep their guards up." Greg promised."Good, your pack's financial situation is becoming worrying, what do you intend to do about it?" Kalen asked Greg.Greg's pack was not a branch pack of dark moon as such Kalen could not interfere much in their matters, however as long as they were under Kalen's protection, Kalen needed them to always be in top notch condition, a pack's financial situation determined a lot of things including the survival of the pack members."Our members keep finding their mates so our numbers are on a constant increase, I'm truly in a tight spot." Greg said tiredly, Kalen glared at him."Did I or did I not tell you to make provisions for this by making new investments when you took over? But of course you never listen, 'the future will take care of itself' you said, how is that working out for you now?" Kalen asked coldly, Greg winced, looking down as he was unable to answer Kalen's direct question.Kalen glared at Greg before throwing a file at him.Greg caught the file and opened it and his eyes widened in surprise.Kalen glared at Greg before throwing a file at him.Greg caught the file and opened it and his eyes widened in surprise."Really? You're giving me this?" Greg asked in shock, Kalen scoffed in response."With much reluctance, yes. Sign that and blue moon constructions will be merged with blade constructions and you will be in charge of the combined companies." Kalen explained."Now I'm aware construction is your speciality but blue moon is not receiving the recognition it deserves. Under your management I expect an increase in the income of blade constructions by 30% and with our popularity blue moon will also have a lot more projects and will in turn experience an increase." Kalen said, Greg nodded, a huge smile on his face."30% increase? I can handle that, what percentage is blue moon to give blade corporation annually?" Greg asked."Nothing, as long as the income of blade construction increases under your leadership, I won't request anything from blu
~Miwa's POV~I walked through the dark forest, I was surrounded by thick fog, I could barely see ahead of me, I spun around trying to figure out where I was and how I could get out of here.'where on God's green earth is this?' I wondered aloud as I moved forward blindly, I walked for a reasonable distance before sighing and lowering myself to a seating position in tiredness, pulling my knees up to my chest, I lay my head on my knees and shut my eyes, contemplating giving up and just waiting right here for whatever was going to happen, but a strange feeling tugged at my heart, pulling me to move in a particular direction.'why do I feel this way' I pondered, rubbing my chest to ease the uncomfortable feeling, I was unable to ignore it and ended up following it as I began my search through the thick jungle once again.I sighted a silhouette some distance away from me , it's back turned to me and breathed a sigh of relief, at least someone was here.
You should go and have a talk with him, with how close we're standing, we wouldn't want the headlines tomorrow to be about young miss Akunna and her personal bodyguards secret affair, I'll head back first." I told him, he chuckled but swiftly left to do as I said, knowing my words were a high possibility, the paparazzi just loved scandals and what was more scandalous than a 17 year old rich Lagosian in a relationship with her body guard.I broke into a sprint as I headed back home, I nodded to the gate guard again as I jogged in, I took off my mask and hood, my lips stretched into a huge smile as I sighted who awaited me at the mansions' doors."Deji!, You haven't left for work yet?" I asked my brother who stood casually in front of me, wearing a casual sweater and black jeans, he handed me a water bottle and I grinned, quickly drinking it, I frowned, pulling a face as I tasted the contents of the bottle, I flashed Deji a hateful glare and he chuckled lowly."De
~Kalen's POV~I dodged Wren's attack, spinning back and throwing a kick at him, he stumbled back from the force and was unable to recover before I delivered another solid punch to his jaws, he groaned, dodging my next attack and swinging a fist at me, I didn't move away this time, catching the fist instead and spinning him around, I wrapped my arm around his neck in a painful headlock, he struggled for a while but soon tapped out."Damn it Kalen, enough training for today already!" He said tiredly, I frowned slightly at him but didn't say anything, grabbing a water bottle from the table and gulping down the contents."You've gotten rusty Wren, I haven't been paying attention to you so you neglected training?" I asked him in my usual cold tone, he sighed, putting down his bottle and running a hand through his hair."It's not that.... just that, I've been so busy pacifying the pack...." He trailed off when he noticed the look on my face, unsure if he c
"... when you're this stupid... you should naturally have a friend like Aiden who dares speak up for you.... even putting his life on the line like this.... You have yet to report to me on the results of your mission Aiden, see me after this.... don't worry, I won't kill you ....yet." I said calmly when I noticed he wasn't breathing, Aiden audibly sighed in relief and gave me a grateful smile, nodding before turning and glaring at the still furious youth... some people truly didn't know what was good for them.Wren's thoughts: Aiden really became daring, speaking on behalf of someone when the Alpha is like that...I could hardly even breath!Aiden's thoughts: OMG, I practically saw my life flashing before my eyes, how did I befriend such a dummy, could have gotten us both killed....I'm too handsome to die young, but then again...Kalen loves me too much....he couldn't possibly live without me... hehehehe.'Whatever it is you're thinking right now will get you killed, wi
Kalen's POV~My cold gaze slowly moved across the gathered wolves again, they all seemed to be having conflicting thoughts."Regarding the issue of my mate...I will not tolerate any further interference." I stated clearly, they bowed in unison and I nodded."Now moving unto other matters...is there any other issue the pack wishes to raise?" I asked, the clearing was quiet for a while before a voice sounded out."There is, that is if the Alpha feels it is now my turn to speak." The young wolf from before said sarcastically, I raised a brow, resting my gaze on him as he stepped forward."Within a wolf pack...the Alpha should naturally be the strongest wolf, however it has been years since our Alpha last shifted, it has me wondering if the rumors that our Alpha has lost his wolf side are true...." The young wolf trailed off and silent murmurings began spreading through the clearing, my gaze darkened slightly as I understood his intentions, I wasn't surpri
"I issue you a challenge for your right to the leadership of dark moon pack Alpha Blade." He said darkly, I nodded in approval."Challenge.... accepted." I responded in a deadly tone, as my battle trained body immediately got ready for a kill. The pack immediately rearranged themselves effectively, creating a huge space in their midst where the fight would take place, the wolf arrogantly walked to the center and stood there confidently, waiting for me."Is there anyone who also desires to challenge me?" I asked the crowd, one wolf wasn't enough to satisfy my blood thirst, I wanted to know all the disloyal ones now, I wouldn't give them the chance to back off when they realized that even without my wolf, It would be impossible to take me down, I was a Blade after all, we never relied solely on our wolves for strength, rather they were an added advantage that made us invincible, from a young age, I had been trained to be every bit as deadly as a wolf, my human for
Miwa's POV~I walked into my brother's huge office, he lifted his gaze to me, chuckling at my disguise, I unwrapped the hijab and glared playfully at him before moving to the back off his chair and grabbing his suit jacket which he had carelessly discarded, for someone who was usually crazy about keeping things in order, it was quite surprising."Rough day?" I asked in concern as I corrected the jacket that was turned inside out before taking it to the closet and hanging it up. Yeah, my brother's office had a closet, perks of being the vice president of a conglomerate, not just a closet but his whole office space was like a palace, built for comfort considering the long hours he spent here usually. It wasn't just him though, my father didn't slack on the decor of the whole building when he took over from Grandpa, and it was again redesigned after father succeeded in making Akunna corporation almost five times as successful as it used to be, he wanted the headquarters of Ak
