Anya
The girl Mia was clearly in distress and it only triggered the anger inside her. Such cases affected her a lot. They increased her nightmares and she felt like beating the shit out of the assholes who tried to sexually assault anyone.
Bloody motherfuckers! She totally hated the rapists and people who attempted rape. According to her they were the scum of this planet, lowest of the low!!
Once Mia’s medical report was in, they arrested Sushant. The guy was pissed off. Apparently the guy’s dad had some very strong political connections. Bloody rich assholes!!
She needed Mia to come in for some questioning. She called the number given on Mia’s file but the phone was switched off. She called Anand (Andy).
“Hi!” Said Andy.
“Hey! Is this Mr Anand Gore?”
“Yes!”
“PSI Anya here. We have caught the culprit.”
“Wow! That was quick. I thought our cops were slow.”
“Excuse me?”
“Sorry, I was kidding,” his tone changed. Sounded serious. “What next?”
She dropped the matter. What was the use arguing about it? She knew what the stereotype was and frankly her own fraternity was responsible for this belief.
In her mind, her goal was clear. Crime was her only enemy.
“I tried calling Mia but her phone was switched off. We have arrested Sushant. Please be available for any further questioning.”
“She is suffering from a nervous breakdown. Her phone is switched off. Can we avoid getting her for the questioning right now?”
“Sorry. I will need to follow the procedure.” Again feeling sad for the girl but being a cop meant working without letting your feelings interfere. “Since you were the one who got her to file the FIR (First Information Report), you can accompany her. I know this can be difficult for a person suffering from trauma but it needs to be done.”
“Ok ba..,” said Andy and disconnected before completing the sentence.
“Strange guy!” She kept her phone aside and continued her work.
There were a few cases that needed her attention and she had no interest in wasting her thoughts and energy on unimportant subjects.
Yet, the boy’s face kept resurfacing in her head at weirdest of the moments. She felt a connection with him but couldn’t understand why. Her instincts had helped her survive many tricky situations before and also helped her to solve a few cases.
She might need to call the guy again. There was something in him that kept him in her constant musings. Especially his eyes.
She heard someone knock at her cabin door. “Yes?”
“Madam, we need you to accompany the squad. Might have to arrest a woman.”
“Sure. Let’s go.” She picked up her service glock and joined her coworkers in the old creaky government issued jeep.

Andy
His phone rang showing an unknown landline number. On attending the call, the voice of the sexy cop felt like music to his ears. He pictured her in her cabin with her bountiful ass perched on her desk. The distracting image played havoc with his hormones. With immeasurable control he spoke to her without making a fool of himself.
“Ok ba…” Fuck! He disconnected before he completed his sentence calling her babes.
He would need to be extra careful. He wanted to see the real person behind the strict impenetrable mask of this sexy cop girl.
“Andy!” It was Mia’s mom calling from downstairs. With Mia suffering and her dad out of India for work, he had moved into her house for a few months to help out. He continued his college from there. It was anyways like his second family.
Mia and Andy had become friends in their junior college. They were best friends who understood each other. It was March of 2011. His term was about to end and he was overwhelmed by the amount of studies with one submission after another lined up. By March 2012 his college would be done. He was looking forward to completing his studies and getting rid of these barrage of submissions.
“Are you planning to come downstairs? The lunch is ready.” Mia’s mom called out again.
“Coming!” He shouted back and joined her and Mia at the dining cum coffee table which was placed between the kitchen and the living room.
Mia’s eyes looked sunken and spleen as if she had a disturbed sleep. She had barely eaten anything when she pushed her plate and got up. “I need to leave for college.” Mia said with stress clearly visible on her face.
“Babes, did you sleep?” Andy asked, concerned.
“A little. I will be fine. Need to go to college today. Have important practicals.” She said but looked clearly like she would be anywhere else but college.
“You won’t have to face him. PSI Anya had called. He is arrested.”
She looked relieved. “Thanks Andy. Best news that I have heard recently.”
“The bastard should rot in jail!” Said Mia’s mom and got up. She went into the kitchen to prepare coffee for everyone.
“I will get ready.”
“I will drop you,” said Andy and got ready himself.

"Time to go babes". Andy sat ready on his black Royal Enfield classic bike with an extra helmet.Since the day Mia had stumbled across her boyfriend Sushant fucking one of their seniors a few months back, Andy had remained a solid support for Mia. They were best friends since their junior college and nothing could stop them from being there for each other. He knew what a fuckwit Sushant was. He would give Mia a lot of grief over continuing to be friends with Andy. Her personality had changed into an introvert but this is one thing that she thankfully did not give up. She stayed in touch with Andy, albeit in secret without letting Sushant know.Whenever Andy recalled the latest incident, he would feel like bashing the bastard up but he controlled himself knowing that the case was in the hands of the cops.Mia came out of her parents house looking as beautiful as ever in her blue denims and a yel
AndyNext morning when Mia came downstairs her eyes looked tired. “Hey babes, how are you doing? You look terrible.”“I feel terrible,” she said massaging her neck instinctively, “my head hurts and I haven’t been able to sleep properly in spite of medicines. I hate this. Hate being a weakling.”“I know. It’s a lot to face your attacker everyday!”Mia sat down next to him and took the mug of coffee that he offered. “What do I do Andy? I can’t carry on like this. I have 3 whole semesters to go and my work is important for me.”“I know sweetie, but he is a senior, isn’t he? He will be gone doing his internship after his finals in O
AnyaShe reached Andy’s college a little after the event had already begun. Unlike the horde of students milling around, she was a professional and had a job. A last minute case had held her back. She had to wrap up her work and rush to the college in a tuktuk (a yellow and black three-wheeled motorized vehicle used as a taxi in India). After haggling with the tuktuk driver and paying an obscenely inflated fare she thought to herself, 'I really need to get a vehicle for myself. This daily haggling is a pain in the ass. Once the EMI (Equated Monthly Installments or mortgage) for the gym equipment is done, I should look for a motorbike.'
AndyThey walked to a restaurant that was frequented by the college students. It was a pocket-friendly place with a warm vibe to it. The walls were painted yellow and the place was decorated with cheap roadside paintings. Wasn’t very well lit, but the tables and cutlery were clean.“This place isn’t much but the food is good,” said Andy, a little embarrassed by his choice of restaurant.“It’s perfect! It's nearby too! Let’s order,” said Anya. “What would you like to have?” she asked, checking the menu out.“Paneer tikka masala (cottage cheese curry with spices and veggies) and roti (Indian flatbread made out of whole wheat flour),” said Andy, happy that Anya wasn’t stuck up on material
AnyaHer phone showed a few unread messages and missed calls from Andy. She had put her phone on silent mode during the fest and then forgotten about it. She scolded herself. Thankfully there were no calls from the station.<Andy> 12.05 am Hi. Reached safely. Sorry to leave in a hurry.<Andy> 12.20 am Sleep well. Good night :-) (smile emoji)<Andy> 2 am I have beaten up the bastard since you didn’t attend your call. What should I do next? She immediately dialled his number. He attended the call in the first ring.“Hi. Thanks for calling, “ he said. He sounded angry.“I was asleep
Anya had a busy day. She reached the station after visiting Sushant’s place, just in time for lunch. Before she could settle down for her meal Eknath, her constable knocked at her cabin door and walked in.“Sorry Anya, I know you haven’t had lunch yet but we need to go to KEM hospital urgently,” he said.“What happened?” Anya pushed the plate of food aside, picked her baton and cap. They headed out in a rush.“A 14 year old junkie is battling for life. He was found in a gutter in the Janata Vasahat (name of the slum) slums,” said Eknath as they drove towards the hospital.“What else did
After that day Andy did not meet Anya. He was busy with his submissions and studies while Anya was busy with her work. They continued chatting but avoided speaking about that evening, both denying their feelings for each other.Mia continued her college fearlessly. After Andy’s stunt, Sushant did not return until his exams and even after that he was too busy to bother her. By the time his exams were over Mia was on her summer vacation. When they were a couple, Sushant had avoided meeting or interacting with her parents which was a blessing in disguise as she hadn’t taken him home. This break helped her heal and her night terrors reduced.By the time Mia returned to college, Sushant was gone for his internship. She soon discontinued her anti-depressants when her suicidal thoughts reduced. She continued her self defence training along with her s
A 12 year old Anya was looking for her brother. Sana stood smiling in an alley next to her shanty. “You are my best friend”“And you are mine!” Anya hugged Sana. The hug brought warmth into her body. Separating herself from Sana, she continued, “Have you seen dada? I haven’t seen him since I returned from school.”“He will be back soon.” Sana fiddled with her hair. “I needed to tell you something.”“What?” she saw Sana shift uneasily, checking the surroundings for any eavesdroppers.“I have a crush on dada.” She blurted out as if trying to finish speaking before her courage left her and then looked at Anya with scared eyes.
