“Gretchen,” he calls her name with disgust. They remove their hoodies to reveal their almost identical faces as they leave the edge of the roof. John steps out of his bathroom with a white towel around his waist, his phone lights up as a notification comes up and he picks it up. It is a message from his boss at Peoples’ United Bank; not surprising since the vampire has been missing work recently. I will just hypnotize him as usual. Cassandra cuddles up into John’s arms, his body has no warmth since he is an undead but it matters not. She is warm enough for both of them. She gets out of the bed and finds a shirt in John’s closet. She looks at her man sleeping and goes to give him a peck. His cheek is as hard as a brick. She goes to the kitchen to fix herself a glass of water. She drinks the water halfway and stops, she notices something wrong. Something feels off about John’s apartment tonight, so she sniffs into the air as she tries to get the scent of any strange presence. She drops the glass on the counter and bends down to hide behind the kitchen table. Something strange is here, but she has to be sure. She takes a deep breath and exhales; she concentrates so her sharp ears can pick up on any footstep around the house. There is one. 87th Street, Roosevelt. Warren parks on the side of the road, close to an abandoned building, “This is the place,” he says, trying his best to hold in his anger for the smashed window. Marcel rubs his hand against his hair, “You are quite the suspicious man, aren’t you?”, Marcel’s blue eyes assess the young man like a jaguar stalking its prey. “Who are you?” Warrens asks, “Shut up. We aren’t here for chit-chat” Gabriel says, sounding like the guardian of two troublesome kids. They step out of the black Honda civic and walk towards the building. The streets are dark and void of any living creature. A cold breeze blows briefly, kissing behind Gabriel’s ears like a lover while his mind is focused on the annihilation of the Assassin sisters. Gabriel hears no heartbeat, no footsteps but he perceives the smell of blood and the rotten smell of carcass creating a vivid atmosphere of death. 5 Years Ago. Samuel walks around a park to dodge the company of John and Elma, not because he finds them troublesome but so they would not interfere with his plan. The human fool Gabriel has taken under his wing will turn out to be a useful piece. Somehow he has gained Count Dracula’s trust but Samuel does not trust him. To be able to gain Dracula’s trust is not something any human can just do. Besides, if immortality is what Frank McQueen wants then Dracula is better equipped for that. So, why Gabriel? Why does Frank McQueen want Gabriel to grant him immortality? Since he has found Dracula, why doesn’t he give them his location? Even the vampires that secretly work for Dracula do not know his location but Frank found it. He even found them. Gretchen swings her blades stylishly like the center of attraction in a choreographic display. She moves as fast and gentle as the wind and her blades create sounds as they cut through the air, missing her target, Gabriel’s head. Gabriel dodges her attacks; he is at a disadvantage as he finds little space to return an attack of his own. His glowing blue eyes move left to right, creating little traces of light in this dark building, their fight looks like a dance similar to the Chinese martial arts dance, one dodging and the other attacking. The werewolf charge toward Marcel who dodges his attacks and lands a blow to its midsection and Warren tosses a brick at it, hitting his mark on its head. The werewolf is enraged but Marcel shows no fear. Before his betrayal he had been in so many fights alongside Count Dracula, a measly dog like the one before him is nothing compared to the horrors he has seen in his lifetime. “Kill them all,” Emily orders, and the wolves attack.Elma swings the sword left and right slashing the werewolves that come close, she displays excellent fighting prowess making their assailants look like amateurs.Emily grabs Samuel’s leg and slams him against a coffer.
