Chapter Twenty

I stand frozen at the door not daring to turn, I could tell who it was by their voice. Charlie remained behind me with his hand on my back, the door was wide open at this point where my neighbours smile at me, but I couldn't return the smile.

"Dad?" I hear Marley ask then he begins to cry along with my mother but I shake my head.

"I can't do this" is all I say walking out the house, I hear my dad start calling my name but I don't turn my head even for a second.

Charlie unlocks the car where I immediately climb in, out the corner of my eye I see someone running out of the house but I shake my head turning to look at Charlie. He sends me a soft smile turning the car on, before the person could reach my door we were driving away.
