Chapter 39: The project defense

Gabrielle lodged in a hotel since she had nowhere to stay. A wave of loneliness washed over her and began to drive her mad. She could not concentrate on the copy of her project she was reading. Her tears began to wet the book. She closed it and tossed it aside. Gabrielle wished she had allowed her friend to stay with her.

She stood up and walked towards the window of the hotel. She could see the new student lodge that was under construction on the land Brian sold.

"Brian, where…are …you! Brian…I need you now….I'm carrying your baby," Gabrielle whimpered with a sad tone.

She sat beside her bed and cried uncontrollably. She ignored her phone that kept ringing beside her. The caller refused to give up.

"Hello," Gabrielle said with a voice that showed she had been crying.

"Oh my god! Gabrielle are you in trouble? Where are you?" A voice yelled.

"Please, who are you?" Gabrielle whimpered.

"As cold as ice. Where are you?" Ice asked.

"I'm fine, don't worry…"
