Four years ago...

Derek and I were about ready to graduate from High school. We were living with an African-American couple who adopted us because they didn't have any children. But they were mean set of people.
Mr and Mrs Sheldon were the meanest set of people ever. They had adopted Derek and I for the purpose of turning us into their slaves. And Mr. Sheldon beat the crap out of us.
So after Derek and I had graduated from High School, we left their house. We weren't fully eighteen yet so we had to escape.
That's how we went from living in Chicago, Illinois to living in Los Angeles, California.
Taking care of both Derek and myself was hard and I needed money to take care of both myself and Derek.
