13: 'Fear'
"So are you saying she's actually not sane yet?!"
"Hmm. She could be."
"With that reasoning, we could say that she has a motive to abduct blondes. However, we lack evidence." Jay frowned. "The students that were kidnapped haven't been found right? Is it wrong for me to think that she's not doing any harm to them?"
It has been seven years and not even a strand of their hair has been found. This case has made countless investigators go bald for not finding even a single clue that would lead them to a breakthrough.
A snicker sounded through the earpiece and Zeke's voice came in. "Stupid. There are countless cases where a body can't be found for so many years because the suspect hid their body thoroughly. Are you seriously sympathizing with the target right now?"
"I'm just stating the possibilities... wait, why are we wrecking our heads about this case anyway? We aren't even detectives!" The thinking should be done by those investigators, not them.
Why does it feel like they switch professionals all of a sudden? Who's the real assassin here?
"But you can't help but think of a reason why you should pull the trigger on our target, right Jay? " Lei asked. The corner of his mouth lifted up. "We no longer kill for no reason. And in this case, I assume that's the reason why Raven is confronting the target right now." He looked up to see a certain window from a building, leaning back against the desk. "There have been 7 students missing so far in 7 years. The most recent was last year."
Zeke smirked as he realized what Lei was implying. He propped up his chin with his left palm. "A bait, huh? I don't know if I should say that she's brave or just plain stupid."
Jay blinked as he processed what his teammate said. With the words bait, Raven, and blonde hovering around his head, he finally understood what was going on. "WHAT?!! Isn't that dangerous?! What if the suspect is a psychopath?!"
What if his master got hurt?!
What if she was indeed kidnapped?!
What if they couldn't find his master afterward?!
What if...????
"Damn bro, calm the fxck down." Ah, now Zeke finally realized how much it hurts to be shouted at on an earpiece, much so that it was on a high volume. He muttered, "She's not even your girl friend."
It kinda irritated him how he was worried about someone he had just met when he literally ditched him just a while ago, someone he had known for years.
Jay clearly heard what Zeke muttered and he blushed. "W-what g-g-g-g-girl-- I d-don't dare!!"
"Wow..." How could he react like that? He wasn't even implying a different meaning. He meant a girl friend, a girl best friend! Why does he sound so flustered??? Huhhh???
"H-how could I asdfgjkl..."
Zeke was dumbfounded. He suddenly felt the urge to smack his head if he were in the same room as him.
Is this his friend? Where the hell did the real Jay go? Please bring back his friend!
A chuckle came from Lei, "Do remind yourself that she's Raven. Isn't that the very same name that the people from the underground feared so much?"
The two went stiff.
Yes. Who didn't know Raven? That was the name of the person who singlehandedly annihilated a whole organization. Those who arrived at the crime scene had nightmares for weeks after witnessing the gruesome situation unfolded around the victims. There was not even a single survivor. There was only a pool of blood, unrecognizable corpses, and a big stroke of blood in the form of the letter R over the wall.
No one knows who he is, nor how he looks.
If you ask a person from the underground who Raven is, they will either show signs of fear or answer you with a weird smile, saying, "Ow Raven? That's the killer who could even castrate you without you knowing!"
It was a hidden rule to not ask anything about Raven if you still value your life.
Both Jay and Zeke felt a shiver run down their spines as they recalled the stories from underground about how ruthless Raven can be when it comes to killing.
Gruesome. Very gruesome.
"Tsk. Is she really Raven? No scratch that--were the rumors even true? Did you see how thin she was?! She doesn't even have muscles! I'm starting to think that all rumors about her are nonsense."
No matter how you look at it, she doesn't really look fearsome at all. Nor the type to annihilate a whole organization by herself.
Zeke felt that she only had arrogance in her. Yeah, that's exactly it. That look on her eyes as if she's mocking him! Shouldn't she be supposed to have an aloof personality?! She doesn't look like what he expected her to be!
It was really disappointing!
Zeke has no idea that that's just how Avyanna looks at people. She wasn't mocking them, but her face was naturally formed as if she was. A natural.
"You'll find out after the mission if it's true or not. Regardless, we could only provide support if we wanted this to be successful." Lei warned them with a stern voice.
"Tsk." Zeke clicked his tongue. When did he ever settle to be on the sideline?
"Hey, who are those guys?" Somewhere inside a building, Jay could clearly see three figures lurking around near the room where his master just went in through his scope.
"I'm actually keeping an eye on these people. But they don't seem to be accomplices, rather they are just students who want to talk to the target, " Zeke said. His eyes are fixated on the monitors.
Silence permeated the air between the three. None of them had the intention of carrying on their conversation, and each had a tacit agreement to continue their survey around the campus.
A few minutes later, a loud explosion was heard.
"What--"
"Don't move, we're the police. Put down your gun and raise your hand."
"Shit."
Without a second thought, Jay jumped off of the window.

"Three. 6 o’clock. Be alert. "
Lei didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Fourteen: The Beginning of all Action THE THREE became highly alert after Jay informed them that he had almost been caught by the police and was still currently being pursued. They immediately assumed that the others would soon be able to find out where they were, so Avyanna and Lei spread out and mingled with the students to avoid being captured. "I didn't expect the police to be tipped off about our move this early. They even have someone like me on their side, huh. Tampering the cameras right under my nose. Show what you got then!" Even after being played, Zeke didn't lose his composure. His eyes glimmered in anticipation and excitement. He purposely didn't take it seriously when guarding the system of the campus so he could toss a bait, which he didn't expect to work and even caught quite a big fish
15: The First Phase (1)AS STUDENTS CONVERSED with each other and continued to mind their own business while walking their way towards their respective class, a commotion happened on the third floor of the Literature Building. Surprising students and teachers who were near the structure. It was so sudden that they did not have the chance to immediately react.A blasting explosion was heard followed by a surging rage of fire that completely devoured the whole floor. The shattered pieces of the glass windows scattered randomly in midair, causing people to instinctively cover their heads as they run.Black smoke began to rise and engulfed a large portion of the structure. Stu
16: The First Phase (2) "Then the possibility of her being an assassin has been confirmed huh." Reese contemplated for a while as he raised his glasses, ignoring another round of nonsense chatter on the other side from his team. The third floor exploded not long after Avyanna walk out of the office, and she even ran away instantly after discovering their pursuit. Doesn't this only mean one thing?"The police didn't seem to have caught their accomplice outside the school, so it would be difficult to stick to our initial plan of capturing them peacefully. As I thought, let's go with plan B." added Reese."Hell, yeah! I like the sound of that!"
17: The First Phase (3) "The woman is probably no longer in the building right now."Archilles didn't bother reprimanding the three with what they've just talked about behind his back. Although he heard them all, it didn't really bother him one bit and decided to just go straight to the point.Confused, the three could only stare at him with an imaginary question mark plastered on each of their forehead. How?"They've probably taken her away…" Reese murmured. Unintentionally answering the question hovering over the mind of the three. He immediately noticed this. "As for the question why, I do not know." he added before they could've asked him why.
18: The Second Phase (1) AS ARCHILLES STOPPED himself from yawning. He walked his way towards the nearest tree and leaned his back over its trunk. Crossing his arms over his chest and closing his tired eyes. He had already talked too much. Although he initially planned to just let them read the whole file he made while he get much rest as he can get, he can't really stop himself to summarize his report as it became a habit he had accumulated for years now. Only a mission can get him to speak that long. The memory of what happened from last night made its way back to Archilles mind. As much as he hates to admit it, he had a hard time slee
19: The Second Phase (3.1) WITH BOTH ARMS CROSSED, Archilles stood unmoving among the humming crowd of officers and detectives. His biceps could no longer be hidden by the upper layer jacket of his suit, which stretched with his arms crossed over his chest. He exudes a tremendous aura that can make anyone succumb just by his mere presence. He’s not even doing anything, nor were his eyes piercing, yet there seemed to be a "Can Be Hazardous When Provoked" s
20: The Second Phase (3.2)"But you didn't get to hear my bet just now, right?" Yuan asked."Ahm, no. What was it about?" Although he doesn’t have the intention of taking back his bet on him, Rue still asked.Reese decided to be the one to answer his question. "He's betting that the captain won't be able to accomplish the
21: Piecing All Together (1.1) AT THAT SAME MOMENT, Lei was chilling on a monoblock chair with a book in his left hand. On the book's front cover, says "Life is meaningless" with a majestic bold and italic golden font. Despite the fact that there's dust and cobwebs hovered all around him, he was able to maintain an elegant and graceful demeanor. On his face, was a slight, relaxing smile. As his upper torso leaned forward, his other arm was supported up against an old wooden table. His chin rested against the back of his hand. With his thumb, he gingerly shifts the page to the next and tentatively reads the characters written on it. Completely unaware
