Chapter 0006

"Alright, let's go back to the hut. It's been almost a week since we left the hut, just praying that our house won't be damaged by the wild animals."

Zhou Fu rose to his feet following Li Xian who had already stood up. The grandson and grandfather are now walking hand in hand through the green grass that is still ‘virgin’. It means, untouched by the human herd. Somehow, nature would be so charming when they didn't meet humans. At least animals can treat the earth much better than humans.

The reason why Konglong Island is abandoned was because of its location which far from other islands. Thousand islands that scattered along in the front of the Caihong mainland have the same characteristic that they are close to each other and are only separated by small straits. Different from others islands, Konglong was standing in the middle of the expanse of the open sea which at any time can spit out its water to make the whole island sink by sea water.

Only animals that do not have intelligence who dare to risk their lives to face the ferocity of nature on Konglong Island. And so, Li Xian chose Konglong Island as his best hiding place.

"Grandpa, is there a herd of bears passing through here?"

Zhou Fu stopped walking. He noticed the footprints that were clearly visible on a path they had made. Li Xian, who heard Zhou Fu's words, also stopped to look at the footprints Zhou Fu was referring to. The area should not be a common area for bears to pass through.

Li Xian's chest sank when his eyes caught a footprint that wasn't a bear's paw. In fact, it wasn't even a trace of an animal.

Li Xian pulled Zhou Fu and threw the little boy on his back, he instructed Zhou Fu to hold on as hard as Zhou Fu could because Li Xian could not accurately guess how dangerous the owner of the footprints was. Li Xian also flashed through the jungle of Konglong Island by taking the opposite direction to the direction of the footprints.

“Grandpa, why does grandpa seem to be afraid of something? Are those the footprints of a dangerous animal?”

"Maybe yes and maybe not. Since we can't gauge the dangers that are near us, the best we can do is be vigilant.”

“Isn't grandpa strong? Why we should be afraid? Grandpa said if we get stronger, we won't be afraid of anything?”

Li Xian was indeed strong; one could even say he belonged to the circle of elderly warriors who were reckoned with. But a big accident happened six years ago. The accident forced Li Xian to be very careful about taking care of his body. He must not take the slightest risk because he has responsibilities related to train Zhou Fu. So, he must remain in good health as long as these responsibilities are not fully completed.

“Despite being strong, once in a while a swordsman must dare choose to retreat if it is necessary. Shut up, grandpa is concentrating!”

Zhou Fu complied. He actually wanted to meet and fight with the enemy because every night Li Xian always told him about the heroic stories of a warrior who killed his enemies. Zhou Fu always hoped that one day he could defeat the enemy with his own strength.

“Later… Later at least when you are over ten years old,” Li Xian mumbled softly as if he understood the meaning of Zhou Fu's silence.

"Why is that so?"

“You are still too young to fight. It's not that Grandpa thinks you're weak, but your body size isn't quite right. Your kicks become very short, your hitting may not hurt at all. Never mind, it's better to play with the elephants and tigers and then fight against the enemy!"

BUG!!!

An unknown person was thrown a few meters after Zhou Fu hit him. It’s too short to understand the situation.

Li Xian paused for a moment, he should have realized that someone was close to him. That isn’t usual, his vigilance was negligent. He then, also suspected something.

“Zhou Fu, thank you. Your punches are on time and on target!”

Zhou Fu paid no heed to his grandfather's words, he was more interested in the body lying face down on the dry leaves. It was the first time Zhou Fu had seen a human other than his grandfather.

"He's dead!" Li Xian informed after Zhou Fu shook the person's body many times but there was no reaction.

Li Xian had already guessed where the male swordsman was from. Judging from his unseen presence, of course the man came from an organization he knew quite a while ago.

“Fu'er, try to find something under the robe, usually there are clues left there!”

Zhou Fu complied, he found a silver paper-roll that did not know its name and function. Li Xian asked for the paper, he then opened its message.

"If you're reading this message, then that means we know where you're hiding!"

Li Xian took a deep breath. It's not a good idea to kill an envoy from the organization. They operate using some special methods, such as what was already mentioned in the paper.

At first several envoys would be assigned to reconnoiter a number of territories. Each of them was provided with a paper-roll which they were not allowed to open. Usually their missions have an expiration date. If the expiration time is two weeks, then they must immediately gather at the agreed place before 14 days. If someone was late to come, they will be executed by a more senior member.

If any envoy does not return for more than three days, then the organization will argue that the envoy died during the mission. That means, the location points that have been passed by the envoy will become places that will then be investigated.

“Fu'er, we must leave this island immediately!” Li Xian shook his head.

Zhou Fu nodded even though he didn't understand. At least at that time he was quite happy because he had managed to finish off the enemy. Moreover, with just one hit.

***

Li Xian carried the corpse of the mysterious warrior to the part of the strait that had the deepest depth among the rest. Even though his hiding place is known, he still has to get rid of the evidence. All forms of their relics, such as huts and paths, were immediately destroyed by Li Xian and Zhou Fu.

They did everything quickly to loss any evidences that show they ever lived in the island.

"Grandpa, grandpa don't be afraid."

Li Xian turned his head with a frown, he watched his grandson who was pushing the pillar of the hut to make it collapse.

"Grandpa, there is no need to be afraid off. If there are any more enemies, I will finish them off with a single punch!”
