Chapter 0007

Konglong Island returned to be an inhabited island when Li Xian and Zhou Fu left the mainland. Before leaving the island, they removed all the traces to convince someone who probably comes there that the mainland is never being used to live by humankind.

“Fu'er, this simple wooden boat is not suitable ship to cross the ocean. We use this simple boat due to we don’t have any other better choice. If you're not with me, you can't use such as this raft to sail the open sea."

Zhou Fu didn't pay attention to his grandfather's speech; he was standing on his hips looking at the star-studded sky. Li Xian was sure his grandson was daydreaming about something. Li Xian had already memorized whenever Zhou Fu looked at the sky in that way, he must be daydreaming.

Li Xian began to strategize. He did not know how long the mission in the silver paper-roll was determined by the organization's stakeholders. It could be a week or even just three days. Meanwhile, the trip to the nearest island is likely take more than five days. Logically, the other member of the secret organization would easily find the location of Li Xian and Zhou Fu due to they have the better ship and equipment.

Realizing that Li Xian loss in many aspects, he began to arrange some strategies to prevent something worse happened.

Zhou Fu lay on his stomach while holding on tightly to the raft's rigging. Li Xian forced him to lie down because they chose to fight the windstorm instead of sailing in the direction of the wind.

The secret organization certainly knew that Li Xian could not possibly have a sturdy ship to cross. That means, a person with a sane mind will avoid windstorm and prefer to sail following the sea breeze. Therefore, Li Xian chose the opposite path that was definitely not considered as an escape route by the organization.

"Grandpa, why does this water tasted salty?"

“Spit out the water! Come on! Sea water is not for drinking, your stomach will hurt!”

Li Xian warned Zhou Fu as he continued to exert his strength to make his raft able to fight against the waves of the sea and the blows of the wind. Zhou Fu's prone position was prone to being exposed to a large amount of seawater vomit. But it was better than Zhou Fu standing still, because his small body would be at risk of being carried away by the wind if he stood.

“Just hold on for three days! Don't fall asleep! Don't get tired! You must be strong, at least until we find the nearest island.”

Zhou Fu tried to vomit all the seawater that had already entered his stomach. He coughed a few times as he continued to tighten his grip.

"If I just do this, who will hit the enemy if an enemy approaches?"

Zhou Fu turned to his grandfather as he continued to move his head to avoid spilling water. Sometimes his mouth gets sea water, occasionally his nose is exposed to sea water. Neither is fun.

“Before you hit the enemy, you were already flying in the wind, then, your body will fall into the sea and the big fish will scramble to cut you off with their teeth!”

Zhou Fu was silent. He imagined what his grandfather had just told him.

"Oh okay. I'd better be like this!"

The third day tossed around in the middle of the ocean…

For the first time in his life, Zhou Fu drank urine. Not his urine, but Li Xian's urine. Zhou Fu's urine had been mixed with seawater because he didn't know it was valuable.

“Grandpa, now it seems I'm sleepy, huaaah…

"No! As soon as you sleep, you are rooted in the waves of the water! Hold on, I've seen the land ahead!"

Li Xian saw that there was a mound far away in front of him. Maybe the distance to the mound was half a day. Li Xian hoped it wasn't a mound but a small island. She and her grandchildren need adequate rest and good food to recover their bodies.

Li Xian himself had almost lost half his physical endurance because he was the sole controller of the journey in the middle of the sea. Without the help of his strength, of course the raft boat they use will be smashed into pieces when it hit by a big wave.

“We are close!!!” Li Xian shouted excitedly.

Zhou Fu, who had been weak and sleepy, suddenly lifted his neck. His eyes, which almost didn't want to open, he forced his best to open them.

"Grandpa, can I stand up already?"

"Not yet! Soon!"

"How long?"

“I’m not sure, maybe just an hour or two. The important thing is not to sleep!”

“Whoa!!!”

"Do not sleep!"

“Alright….”

The time estimated by Li Xian was not wrong, exactly an hour later, they were already quite close to a mound of earth that turned out to be a small island. Li Xian hopes that the island is as sterile from human existence as Konglong Island.

***

Its name is the Shangjin organization, an independent organization that is not subject to any government, sect, or group. It is not clear enough the purpose of the organization was founded. However, several historical cases in both the Caihong, Shamo, and Bingdao mainlands were closely related to the organization.

Li Xian had some guesses, but he didn't want to rush to conclusions. After all, it wasn't just the Shangjin organization that was hunting him. Shangjin was just one of many parties who wanted Li Xian. Not to be killed, but to be interrogated about something that is still a big question mark.

Li Xian himself, judging from his youth performance, he was not a warrior who had a good reputation in terms of kindness. To put it simply, he had a track record that showed he wasn't a hundred percent good swordsman. But Li Xian's past was clearly different from the current state. The current Li Xian was an old swordsman who held his commitments above all else. This commitment is related to the growth and development of a small child whom he named Zhou Fu.

“Fu'er, wake up! If you don't want to wake up, I'll just throw your body into the ocean!"

Zhou Fu rubbed his bloodshot eyes against sleep. He saw the shady trees and his eyes sparkled.

"Grandpa! Let's go hunting wolves!”

Li Xian's face was suddenly a little lethargic. He looked back at the jungle on the island, then looked back at Zhou Fu.

“Unfortunately, I don't feel the air of animal life on this island. It feels a little odd, I don't know what's going on on this island but if my guess isn't wrong, there aren't any animals here!”

Li Xian muttered quietly as if he was talking to himself because Zhou Fu must not have understood what he just said. He himself was surprised, the aura that emanated from the island felt very cold on his skin. Usually it signifies the absence of both human and animal life.

The island is called Youhi Island.
