Two days before the concert, Kayle was sitting in science class working on the assignments that Mr. Anderson had given them. She was working hard when her phone vibrated in her lap; she looked down and smiled.
Trigger: Sweetness, I miss you. I hope you are doing ok.
Trigger: Did I mention that I miss you?
Kayle: Yes, and I miss you. I wish I could see you tonight.
Trigger: I want to see you too; my wolf is driving me insane.
Kayle: I’m in class; I’ll call you after school?
Trigger: Yes, let's video chat 😊
Kayle placed her phone back in her lap and went back to her assignment finishing it rather quickly. Finally, she got up and turned in her work and then went back to her desk. She pulled out a book that she had checked out from the library and started to read it. When the bell rang, she gathered her books and left out of the door. She walked out of the classroom
The day of the concert finally arrived, and Kayle, Savanna, and Lou-lou sat around the kitchen that morning. They were munching on breakfast and talking about later tonight. There was a light air even though Kayle was nervous about tonight and the coming of her uncle.“So Kayle, I heard through Conor that you and Trigger ran off to the woods and spent the day yesterday,” Savanna said, taking a drink of her juice.“Yea, I decided to skip yesterday. I figured that being with Trigger before he has to leave to finish their tour elsewhere,” Kayle uttered sadly, looking at her half-eaten plate.“It will be fine. Trigger will be back sooner than you know,” Savanna said in a comforting voice, “It’s hard when Conor leaves me. But when he comes home, I’m on cloud nine.”“I’m here as well, Kayle. I will do what I can to help make those days faster,” Lou-lou declared, coming around the isla
After breakfast, Kayle and Trigger sat on the porch swing. Kayle laid cuddled into Trigger’s chest as he stretched out the length of the swing. His left arm wrapped around Kayle’s body, his right arm behind his head. Kayle’s left hand is resting on his chest as they laid there.“Trigger?”“Yeah,”“Thank you for coming over. I’m not too sure of my uncle; he seems odd,” Kayle stated as she looked him in the eyes.“He did seem a little off at breakfast. Your dad was talkative, though; he even talked to me,” Trigger laughed.Kayle smiled at Trigger, and he placed a soft kiss on the top of her head, pulling her closer to him. The front door opened, and the two lying on the swing looked over at it. They watched as Dr. Easton and Kayle’s uncle emerged; Uncle Charles glanced over at them with a stoic expression on his face. He grabbed Dr. Easton’s shoulder and then pointed
Entering the dining room, Kayle watches as Trigger lays the porcelain plates on the table, walking clockwise, finishing as she places the silverware where Private Hixson will sit. Kayle pauses to look at Trigger and catches him staring at her. Glancing back down, Kayle put the knife in its place; blushing, Kayle asked, “Why are you staring at me?”Looking back up, Kayle startles at seeing Trigger up close to her right side. Gazing in his eyes, she notices the silver glowing around his irises. Kayle watched his hand come to her face. She tilts her head into his hand, closing her eyes; Kayle felt Trigger push her up against the wall. Dropping the rest of the silverware, she opened her eyes. Locked in his gaze, Kayle felt the curtains touch her bare skin. The soft, cool breeze flowing through the cracked window played on her flesh.“Trigger,” Kayle moaned, turning her head up gazing into his silver-encased light blue orbs. The touch of his l
Trigger carried Kayle to her room. His shirt was getting wetter the longer he held her. Stopping at her door, he opened it and walked in, using his foot to shut the door. Striding to her bed, he laid her on the mattress and sat down beside her. Moving a strand of her hair away from her tear-streaked face, Trigger laid his palm on her cheek.“I don’t know what to do, Trigger,” Kayle stated, grabbing his hand.“Sweetness, I don’t know what to do to help you. All I can do is try to calm you down,” Trigger said in a soothing voice.Trigger felt her hand on his face and then move around to the back of his head. Her wet eyes searching his, Kayle bit her lower lip as she pulled firmly on his head to make him lower it.“Kiss me, Trigger, please,” Kayle pleaded.Trigger shook his head, closed his eyes, and breathed in deeply, “Kayle, you're in shock. You just witnessed a person that you’ve kn
Faint voices floated from the far end of the room to Kayle’s bed. She tossed in the bed, moaning as she tried to open her eyes. Beeping sounds kept with the rhythm of her heart.“Conor, I don’t think I can tell her; I mean, it’s going to be hard on her,” said a familiar voice.“You know she is going to ask where he is,” Answered Conor.Kayle finally opened her eyes and saw Mitch shake his head in defeat as he stood to look out at the darkening sky. The clouds were dark and pregnant with rain, waiting to flood down on the city. Kayle looked between Conor and Mitch, searching for a third person who was at the moment not in the room.“Guys, what’s going on?” Kayle whispered. Both vampires turned quickly to her voice as her question remained unanswered. Conor went to the side of her bed and took her hand. Kayle looked in his eyes and knew something had gone terribly wrong. Kayle looked a
Kayle woke up wrapped in blankets. Looking around, she noticed that Trigger was not beside her. Sitting up on the back of her arms, Kayle saw that he was sitting at the edge of the bed. His face in his hands as Kayle crawled to him and climbed onto his lap. She placed both her hands on his face and made him look at her. Kayle smiled and then laid a supple kiss on his lips.“What’s wrong, Trigger?” Kayle asked as she ran her hands through his hair.“I’m sorry if I woke you, Sweetness. I just woke up in a sweat,” Trigger answered her as his hands went to her hips, helping to hold her on his lap.“Can I help with anything?” Kayle asked as she kissed his jawline and down his throat.“Mhmm,” Trigger moaned as she got to the spot he would have been marked.“Do you like that?” Kayle whispered in his ear.“You know it,” Trigger groaned, wrapping a hand in her hair, p
“About damn time you decided to come to hang out with us!” Exclaimed Savanna as she dropped her duffle bag on the floor.Kayle laughed as she walked into the hotel room. The group had decided to rent two of the suites of one of the wealthiest hotels. The boys had sent the girls up to the rooms while they finalized everything with the rooms. Lou-lou and Stella walked in behind Kayle and Savanna, dropping their suitcases.“You’d think we could have gotten rooms to ourselves,” Stella complained as she looked around the living room.“Really? Stella? You aren’t even paying for this; the boys are,” Savanna questioned, giving her a questionable look.“What, I’d like to have some privacy with Mitch,” Stella answered with a taunting head bob.“Between the two suites, there are plenty of rooms, Stella. Stop being a bitch,” Savanna came back at her.Stella outstretched her ha
The group settled into a VIP table at Club Illusion. Everyone laughing and talking with each other, bottles of wine and liquor on the table. Trigger kept his gaze moving around the room, his senses on high alert. He briefly met Conor’s, and they both nodded to one another. Kayle looked up at Trigger, a smile on her face; she slightly frowned at him while giving him a questionable look. Trigger looked down at her and grinned at her. His eyes were a firey storm of emotion gazing back at her and took her hand and kissed it.“Let’s go dance, Trigger,” Kayle excitedly said as she slid out, tugging on his arm.Trigger smirked and slid out with her shaking his head as she led him down the spiral staircase to the dance floor. He watched her as she walked in front of him—Kayle’s hand in his as she swayed her hips to the music. Trigger licked his lips as he watched her turn to him on the dance floor. The playful look on her face made him
