Kal finally agreed and as he slowly stretched out his huge hands to her she quickly grabbed them and both gasped as she was taken into his past briefly but was suddenly cut short by Raul who forcefully slapped Kal’s hands away from hers.
“What are you doing?” Raul roared in ager at Hayley. “You can’t be doing this here in the open. We could be amidst enemies.”
Hayley wasn’t listening. She gazed around at the crowd but before she could turn back, both Raul and Kal were gone.
Her friends gathered around her curious to know what had happened.
“What was that about?” Jaya was trying to be nosy.
“I don’t understand why Raul would be so mad at me for doing something he knew was normal amongst us,” Hayley complained.
“But what did you see when you held the Alpha’s hands?” Mira cut in.
“His eyes were so frightening. I’ve never seen him that upset before.” Hayley still complained, ignoring her friend’s questions.
“But…” she sighed and continued, “What scared me, even more, was what I saw. I think I saw Raul too but I-I... just can’t remember.
The party continued and it was now the time to decide the fate of certain werewolves. They all gathered around as the moon goddess suddenly appeared and started the process of match-making alphas with their lunas.
Lucas is matched with a friend of the family. So, they both connected easily and started out immediately away from the others. Other alphas from other packs got matched and they all connected instantly. Then the Moon goddess suddenly spotted Hayley from the crowd and points her out.
“You!” The Moon goddess pointed at Hayley slowly and approached her.
Hayley was scared and froze as the crowd turned their gaze towards her.
“Me?” she quickly fell to her knees, her head bent low as she transformed.
The crowd gasped in awe, watching the scenario. The Moon goddess went down on her knees and pats Hayley softly.
“You are the special one.”
Hayley made a sound in agreement and laid low.
The Moon goddess continued. “You have a great destiny to bear. But you are not alone; you are one in a million females to be paired with a mate and he is here somewhere. You already met.”
Hayley turned to gaze around the room in search of her supposed mate.
It is odd for a female werewolf to be the subject of a pair except in very rare cases which happens like once in every one thousand years. At first, she thought it was Kal, or at least someone she used to like from the past. But then something happens that cuts the whole scene short. She immediately returns to her human form to discover that the Moon goddess had disappeared. She is shocked at the sight she saw; masked males and females transforming in their tens, the twenties. She took a deep breath.
There is panic in the hall as werewolves began transforming all around. Hayley who was now back to her human form was scared. She wondered what was going on. She headed to find her brother in his bedroom but was halted by a loud roar.
“Don’t you dare take a step further!” he roared at her.
She was frightened and turned to gaze at the voice she thought she recognized. It was Kal. He took off his mask as he approached her with a smirk on his face.
“You!?” she said with irritation in her voice.
“You surprised to see me?” he replied.
The hall is now silent as guests were taken hostage, surrounded by hostile werewolves all around the hall. Hayley is forced to her knees as flashes of what she had seen when she touched Kal came back to her. Kal was now right in front of her. She wondered why Raul is nowhere to be found and how the hostiles got a hold of their territory while he is supposed to be in charge.
“Hayley, Hayley, Hayley… the beauty in the main lands. That’s all we hear about in the outlands.” Kal sniffed as he raised her chin slowly to gaze into her green eyes. He could feel her anger as she panted.
“What did you see when you held my hands earlier?”
“I wish I had seen enough; you wouldn’t be talking to me right now.”
“Oh yeah?” he threw his hands in front of her and commanded. “Here; look again.”
She hesitated and gazed at him.
“Do it. It’s an order.”
She gazed around the room at the expectant and anxious crowd and then takes his hands and gasps as she sees into his past.
Kal had a dark experience. She watched him die in a battle as a young werewolf but he was rescued by another during clean-up. It turned out to be Raul. She swallowed hard in disappointment and continued. Raul was a little older than Kal was. They bonded so well and called their pack the Night’s clan but they lived in the outlands. Kal became a part of their pack and since he still had friends in the main lands, he was able to blend in to source for food and the information needed to survive and draft attacks plans on mainlanders all for survival.
Or greed?
The Night’s clan rolled in and out often, attacking other clans, and eventually succeeded in overthrowing a nearby pack in the main lands. They finally settled in the Northern aisles and developed a small community there. Their pack soon became the most feared amongst the other neighboring packs but they wanted more power to overthrow the Western aisles which was led by Lucas. They knew they could not defeat Lucas alone so they devised a plan which was to gain his trust and then infiltrate his territory.
Raul was the actual head of the pack, not Kal and he always had the support of his followers. He was never mated by the Moon goddess as it was rumored that he was cursed; which wasn’t the case. So, he found his way into the battle that was organized by Lucas and a neighboring clan against the outlanders Raul had organized himself to gain entrance into the heart of her brother, who was their only challenge.
Hayley gasped in awe releasing Kal’s hands.
“Wow!” Kal lamented in astonishment. “You really are amazing.”
Hayley still panting and now in tears replied in a harsh voice, “I will crush you if it’s the last thing I’d do.”
“Save it!” Raul roared from the main entrance.
The crowd gasped in fear as they turn to gaze at him. Raul walked towards her slowly. “Now you know everything, you must understand that it’s just business. We have nothing against you. Our world is for the fittest and the law states that no two alphas can rule a pack.” He paused at Hayley’s laughter and threw her a stern look.
“You coward. You can’t lead a pack. You don’t even know the first thing about leadership.” She laughed between sobs.
Raul pulled her by the hair to look into her eyes and boasted. “I am born to rule and I don’t plan on ruling a small pack. You, as a matter of fact, are going to help me destroy your home because I plan to rule all Western aisles and there’s just one person in my way.”
“You’ll never rule the Western aisles. Over my dead body will that happen.” Hayley smacked as she made to transform.
“So be it,” Raul responded and transformed too.
The crowd panicked and there was running and fighting everywhere. The other members of the Western aisles took form and joined in the fight while Hayley and Raul face each other.
Hayley was not exactly a fighter, so Raul beat her hands down but then Lucas showed up from within to rescue his sister and took up the fight with Raul.
“Hi there, Chief. How was the honeymoon?” Raul roared sarcastically.
“I trusted you. How could you betray me?” Lucas replied equally angry as he circled Raul.
“I’m not afraid of you.”
“You should be,” Lucas warned.
“I am not alone in this, you know. I have my whole pack here with me.” Raul boasted as he pointed out his followers who have been waiting for the moment to join in the fight. They assemble, about fifteen of them altogether, and surrounded Lucas.
“No, Lucas… please.” Hayley’s voice was heard faintly from the corner where she laid, wounded in her human form.
“You think you can beat me in this territory?”
“Remember, I know everything about you, Lucas.”
“I will tear you to pieces and feast on your bones.” Lucas roars.
Immediately, the other members of his pack return from outside and slowly surrounded Raul and his team. Raul realized that he was outnumbered and tried to pull a fast one. He quickly grabbed the dying Hayley with his super-speed and super strength and landed at the top of the building outside.
“Nooo!” Lucas roars and tried to follow.
“Ah ah ah… think about your next move before you regret it, Lucas,” Raul warned while still on the rooftop, now in his human form. He gazed down at the very angry Lucas and his minions and smiled in satisfaction.“Your sister will be fine only if you step down, Lucas. Otherwise, I’ll deliver her body to you bit by bit.” He laughed aloud.“We won’t fight today. So long as we have what we came for. We will live to fight another day. But be ready then, Lucas because it will be bloody.” He concluded and transformed as he hopped out into thin air. Some members of his team followed sooth and others remained to finish the fight while Raul and the others made for an escape. It was a fight that lasted for long hours. The wounded Hayley watched helplessly from a distance, weak, almost lifeless as carcass filled the battleground. She smiled in sat
Hayley releases Raul’s hands; her eyes now bleeding.“What’s the matter?” Raul seemed concerned about seeing the blood in her eyes. With a husky voice, she replied, “I’ll be fine. It happens when I get emotional during a session.”Raul hands her a handkerchief from his pocket. Surprised, Hayley took it and wiped the blood off her eyes.“Thank you!”“We can stop until you’re ready to continue.”“I’ll be fine. Enough with the pretense.”“Alright then; that was an order,” Raul concluded and walked away.Hayley sat in her cell thinking about what she had seen. Now she understood Raul better but still had questions and hoped that the next session they would have, would reveal more. The next morning was quiet and it seemed like Hayley was the only one in the territory. She yelled and screamed, “Anyone there…
“What are you doing here?” he asked in a very soft voice laying in his bed; chests, bare.“I came as requested,” Hayley responded in a seductive voice. “I changed my mind.” She stood at the door, hands on her lips.Raul gazed at her with small smiles around his lips, checking her out. He licked his lips and sighed.“Ok.”Hayley headed towards him undressing herself. “I couldn’t get you off my mind. The way you looked at me earlier; sent chills down my spine.”Raul grabbed her by the arm and pulled her to himself. “Hmm… really?”Hayley smiled and nodded like a baby. She threw her arms around his neck. “I want you just as much too.”“You want that?”“Yes, I do.Raul kissed her lips softly and Hayley moaned with pleasure. He paused to look into her eyes and her beautiful lips form a small smile which drov
CHAPTER SIX… (May) Back at the Western aisles, Lucas tortured his prisoner from Raul’s team. A female called, May. She was rumored to be Raul’s favorite female. Lucas had been torturing her since the battle. She was now looking shattered and pale; severely wounded. Lucas took a seat in front of her. His face was pale and unkempt. His beard was long and bushy. His clothes were rough and his hands blistered. May hung between life and death; hands tied up in the air. She was looking so sickly. “You will never get anything from me.” She managed a whisper and snorted. Lucas gazed up at her tiredly. “You know why you’re still alive?” Lucas asked in irritation. “Because I haven’t heard anything yet about my sister.” May laughed out loud. “W-what’s so funny?” Lucas asked breathing hard. “Your sister is already dead. Raul has no use for her so he couldn’t have kept her alive all this time.”
May opened her eyes to find that she was in a strange place. She sighted the priest sitting and rocking his chair smoking pot.“Hey!” she called out in confusion.“Oh you’re awake?” the priest headed towards her smiling.“Don’t touch me.” May pulled back in fear panting hard. “Who are you and where am I?”“You don’t remember?” the priest took a good look at her.“No…”“You came to us asking for help from some outlanders who were chasing you.”May paused and tried to recall.“Yes; I did escape them.” She paused and touched her tummy like she was searching for something. The priest watched her in curiosity.“My baby?”“Baby?”“My baby? Yes; I was pregnant. What happened to my baby?” she cried, tears circling her eyes.“You had no child when y
The priest collected his payment of coins in a small bag and nodded in agreement.“Do I have your word on this; that she will remain like this for as long as I want?”“You have my word, my liege.”“Thank you. Everything’s going to be fine. I promise you.”The following day, Modi ordered servants to get May ready to attend a ceremony as his personal guest. May was dressed up to look even more beautiful than she ever imagined. May had green eyes and really short hair. She had the stature of a male but the face of an angel. She was not a striking beauty but she was tough, smallish with sexy lips.May was escorted to meet Modi at the ceremony and wowed the audience. There was a pause and silence as she walked past the hall. She was shy but maintained a calm look until she approached Modi’s seat. She curtseyed and Modi led her by the hand to her seat
Raul laughed out loud watching Hayley get beat in the game. It was a pool fight game and Raul loved to watch the game. Werewolves are picked randomly to challenge another of their choice and they both battle for the title of strongest. It is a system usually used to train warriors in preparation for a battle. It is also a means used to train and get fit for a battle and it is also a fun game. Either way, it existed to separate the strong from the weak and Raul never misses a game because he also uses it as a means to inspect fighters and also test for whoever is stronger than he is.Hayley struggled to win while her competitor works hard to get first place. Raul was enjoying this. He loved to watch Hayley get severely beaten by another female. His laughter was the loudest as he teased her in the game.“C’mon Hayley; get up and fight. You’re not going to let a weakling torment you like that; are you?” Raul taunted her.T
Raul sat in his room circled by his minions giving reports on duties he had assigned to them weeks earlier. Hayley approached his room humming her favorite song Alisha keys, Girl on Fire when she sighted Raul and his minions in an argument in his room. She paused at the door to take a look and overheard fragments of their dialogue.“It was her, master. I saw her with my own eyes.” One of his minions argued.“Yes master, she even looked happy with him.” Another added.“Here is the video clip, sir.” One-handed him a device playing the video recording they had captured of May and Modi having fun together. Raul watched in silence.Hayley studied his expression. She could feel a little bit of sadness in her eyes as he watched the video. Then she wondered if she was his mate.“Alright.” Raul stopped the video and looked up at his minions. “I’m glad she’s ok. She looks happy and th
