Chapter 14: Darren

Spending the rest of the week at home, I do my best to relax and sleep.  However, when someone like me is couped up for so long, I tend to go stir crazy.  First, I try reading a book and taking it easy.  After about an hour, I find myself wondering what kind of mess Jake is getting the Company into.  

I pick up the newspaper that Ms. DiAngelo left for me and I read the business section.  Nothing seems out of place right away, so I sit back.  Next, I browse the rest of the newspaper and in the crime section, I read about my accident. 

Thankful that they kept it mostly quiet, I was glad because it would have made our stocks plummet.  Sometimes throwing money at the problem makes it go away. Other times, not so much.  For instance, last year I had a meeting with the owner of Miagi International.  It did not go over well when he got drunk and almost killed one of the strippers/callgirls.
