Chapter 19: Lauryn
Waking up Wednesday morning before the alarm goes off, I take a little longer in the shower and getting dressed than I usually do. First, the shower is especially warm and inviting. I even use my pumpkin spice shower gel that I love so much. Then, when I get out, I go through my new wardrobe that Shannon bought me on my birthday and try on several things.
One thing in particular stands out and makes me feel good about myself. A very tasteful looking red dress, with just a small slit that goes up to my thigh. The neckline isn't low at all, but the dress hugs my curves in all the right ways. Anyone who looks at me, might think I am a top executive in this dress.
Making this my choice for the day, I choose a pair of black leather high heels to complete the ensemble. Fluffy comes running in and watches me model for the mirror, wagging her tail. "Oh, do you approve Fluffy?"
She barks and tries to jump on me.

It's Thursday, yay! Just one more day and I will have completed a full work week without getting fired. Amazed with myself, I get ready for work and pick out a suitable outfit. My emerald green skirt and tan silk blouse look beautiful together and feel deliciously wonderful. Strolling into work, I feel on top of the world. Nothing can make my day bad, not even Jake. I sit at my desk wondering what the hell just happened. Part of me wants to pack up my things and run as far away from him as I can. The other part needs to find out more. Frustrated and incredibly horny, I try to sleep after pacing around for awhile. When Lauryn left, I couldn't believe the bad luck I was having and then it turned to anger. Not wanting to go to work, I have to force myself to get in the car and drive. Feeling depressed, I watch as a woman pulls up next to me at the light. She has really pretty long black hair in a braid and she is wearing matching black designer glasses. The kind you see actresses wear all the time. The reason why I'm late for work is I'm not looking forward to seeing Darren. Last night was so hot, that when I did fall asleep eventually, I dreamt about it. When the doctor put Fluffy to sleep, I was so heart broken that I sat on my couch for hours with Chris holding me. He really is the best. However, seeing Darren mad like that made me want to run the other way. I don't want him to take it out on me at work and affect my chances of succeeding there, because I am already becoming partial to it and the people I work with. The last thing I would tell Lauryn is that Jake wants to talk to me about Jenna, so I lie. After all, what she doesn't know won't hurt her and I didn't know I would ever see her again, let alone work here under me. I pace around Jake's office and listen to him lecture me. Not being able to believe that I forgot to give her the necklace, I get impatient and want to just walk back to her office. "You know, if you kept your dick in your pants we wouldn't be having these problems right now." He turns to me mad and shows me the documents, the lawyer had drawn up. "I thought your man took care of this problem?" "He did, but apparently not before the lawyer sent this." As I continue to pace, I wonder what this is really about. Piecing the puzzle together, I figure it out and turn on him. "You are mad because Lauryn is mine, aren't you? Why are we even fighting over her, you are fucking Theresa?"

I can't believe Mr. Denver jumped me like that. Just when I was about to leave with Janet for dinner, he comes in and tells me he needs to talk to me. Looking at Janet, I could tell something was up, because she wouldn't look me in the eyes.
