Chapter 50: Darren

Driving back to the city, we decide how to proceed with everything.  Letting Lauryn do the talking, I sit back and drive while she calls Jaiden and informs her that we will be meeting her a bit later than initially decided.  Of course, she isn't happy, but eventually agrees. 

Feeling confident that everything will work out, I look over at Lauryn and smile.  Her face is lit up by the sun and she looks absolutely radiant.  How lucky am I to have a woman who is willing to take in another child that isn't her own and love her?  I thought for sure I was going to have to let Miah go.

She glances at me and returns a beautiful Lauryn smile.  For a few minutes we sit quietly driving, then she asks me a question.  "Why would you have given up your child for me?  I thought she was your everything, what happened?"
