“Hey,” Jayden gave Malvika a tight-lipped smile which she returned with a bright one of her own. It took all his will-power not to scowl at her. He was still very upset about his discussion with Diane earlier today. “Get in,” he instructed Malvika who opened the door to the car and climbed inside.
“Hi, Jay,” she greeted, smiling brightly. “Diane told me you wanted to take me somewhere.”
Jayden tightened his hands on the wheels. “She did, didn’t she?” He muttered, frowning. “Your seat belt,” he said, nodding in the direction of the seat belt. He waited for her to clip it in before starting the car.
“So where are we going?” Malvika asked, her bright smile still on her face. She looked extremely happy; too happy to notice Jayden’s gloomy mood.
“For a picnic,” he replied gloomily, his eyebrows still furrowed into a frown.

Diane sat on the couch in Jayden’s living room, a couple of files and papers spread across the center table in front of her. She crossed her legs and tucked it underneath her, then, spread few more papers and files on her legs. Diane stared at Jayden, shocked to the bones by his confession. She dropped her hands carelessly to her side and her phone dropped to the ground with a loud clatter. She stared blankly at him, noting the desperation in his eyes. She was unable to talk. Each time she opened her mouth to form words, her mouth would go dry and she would shut it close.“I know this comes as a shock,” Jayden said, panting, “but I just think I should let you know that I love you. I really really love you.”By the time Diane could finally compose herself, the only word she could get out was, “Wow.” Then, she closed her mouth and continued staring at him.“Diane? Diane sat close to the window in the cafe, a cup of coffee in front of her. Her arms were folded across her on the table and she tapped her fingers rhythmically on the table. Nicholas brought the car to a stop in the garage of the restaurant. He stared at it. It looked like a really small restaurant – not a place he would ever bring a date to. Jayden pushed the door to his house open and he walks in with Diane right on his heels. Nicholas drove the car to into the compound, parked it properly then climbed out of it, not waiting for Ashley or Jenny. He slammed the door close and headed for the house blinded by fury and pain. Half past five in the morning and Diane was awake, seated on her bed with her laptop on as she scouted the internet for houses available for rentals. She rubbed her forehead, sighing tiredly, as she strained her eyes to read the words on the computer. It was almost Dawn and Jayden wasn’t back from wherever he went to. It felt like he had simply disappeared from the world because she had no idea where he went. She even tried calling his phone but it went straight to voicemail and after several trials, she simply gave up.Thinking about it, she felt bad of course. She had led him on and then broke his heart. Diane stood in the middle of her new house, a feeling of melancholy enveloping her. She stared at the three seat sofas, the arm chairs, the couches and the center table in the living room. Sighing heavily, she moved to one of the couches and slumped into it. She had just paid for the house. After her discussion with Jayden in the morning, it had become more important than before for her to find a new house and she was so grateful that she did. But she just couldn't shake the feeling of loneliness that came with the house. She was the only one in it and it bothered her as she had been so used to living with other people. Reaching out to pick her phone on the table, she decided to giver her sisters a call. She unlocked her phone, scrolled through her contact list, clicked on Malvika's name and dialed the number. After ringing thrice, Malvika picked up. "Hey, Diane, what's up?""I'm fine. How are you, Malvi?""I'm good. It's nice to hear from you. What of Jayden?"Diane glanced around.
