SEVENTY ONE

Malvika rose up from the bed and walked to the window side. She stood there, looking down at the parking lot. Mentally, she started counting the the numbers of cars in the parking lot, unsure of what else to do. After a while, she sighed and glanced at her phone on the bed. The sudden urge to pick up the phone and call Diane overwhelmed her but she managed to shrug it off and glance back outside.

She had absolutely no plan for today but as she thought about it, she decided to go out and scout for a job. She needed one if she was going to ever survive without Diane and Natasha. Malvika had never actually lived alone or be responsible herself alone in her life. At first, when her father was still alive, he used to send her a couple of bonuses in a month because she was a passive partner of the company. Then, when he died, Diane placed her on a monthly salary. But now, she wasn’t sure that was possible anymore. If she wanted this to work, she had to find an actual job.
