Chapter 3||You are my daughter in law

**Zara Todd’s POV**

My eyes opens with the noises of people all around me. There are lots of people chattering all around me. I don’t even realize what the hell is going on all around me.

I open my eyes and sit straight and look around for a while.

I am sleeping in the huge queen sized round bed which I have seen only in the homes of royals in the movies. Am I in the dream of some sort or what?

Did I just die and get into he heaven?

It’s really hard for me to decipher what’s exactly going on over here.

“She’s woken up,” a lady in her mid fourties shouts to all of the ladies working with her and makes all of them stand right in front of me.

“Who are you guys? Why are you bowing in front of me?” I ask them.

“I am really sorry for your convenience young miss. We must have disturbed you on your good sleep. I apologize for that. You can get back to sleep but before that we need to ask you something?” she says as she lets all the other maids get back to their respective work.

I wait for her and hear what she is about to tell me. I stand awestricken in there as my eyes spy the beautiful and luxurious designs and interiors all over the place.

“Miss! This. We need to check your uniform according to your size,” she says as she hands me the uniform. The uniform which is supposed to be my dream uniform.

So, studying in Hilltown wasn’t just a dream. It is a real deal after all.

“This is for me?” I ask.

“Yes, mam this is for you. These are all of yours. This whole room and everything in here are yours,” she says and my eyes flutters as she says that.

“No, you must be mistaken. I don’t belong here. I belong to somewhere else and I am supposed to be in dorm right now not over here. Can you please show me the way to the dorm of Hilltown High,” I say and she smiles widely.

“Mam! Hilltown doesn’t offer dorms. Only the elites get to study over there and no one else,” she answers and I don’t know what to say.

If I am not in the Hilltown’s dorm then where in the hell I am?

“Can I take a round of the house or dorm I don’t know,” I say being brazen all of a sudden. She nods. I make a slow step towards the long and beautiful golden painted alley of the house.

What the hell is this place? Why does it seem like the house of royals? Does the house like this even exist in the real life?

I am filled with wonders and only wonders as I keep on walking ahead. There are so much delicate and beautifully carved designs of art in here. I wonder who own the house like this. As I walk in the alley I find the people greeting me.

Why the hell are they greeting me by the way? It makes me feel more and more of the awkward as I walk through it.

There is a huge garden in the middle of the houses. With houses I mean there are three houses and in between them are small beautiful ponds where some fishes are swimming in it.

I stand there to see the views of the fish trying to get the food in there. They must be hungry. I think of walking to the pond and feeding them their food which is just at the side of the pond.

Sometimes I think we could really have a language between animals and us. So, that we could understand them better and exchange our pains together.

My steps are just trying to walk towards when and they stop immediately after two steps. I step back as I see someone walking towards the pond.

It is a guy.

He has covered his whole body with black attire. I mean I am only able to see his back and his black hood and his black pants and his shoes are the only things that I can observe from afar.

He walks gently towards the pond and takes out the fish’s food and start feeding them. He seems to be kind. The smile automatically creeps on my lips as I see him. His kind nature makes me try to gaze at his face too. I really want to see his face.

As he is kind, he really must have beautiful face which every people would love to see and adore. He is tall and has quite build up body.

“Young miss! We have been searching for you,” the lady calls me from behind and I turn back to her.

“Called by whom? I don’t know anyone over here,” I say.

“You will soon know miss. You have to meet her right now,” she says and I nod her. I feel quite insecure looking all the things happening to me. The place, the luxury, school everything is just so much for me to take care of right now.

She leads me away from there but as I walk back I have that serious urge to look back at the guy who is standing there and feeding the fish but when I turn back I don’t see him. He is completely out of there like I had seen ghost some moments ago.

“Excuse me! Can you tell me if someone was there in that part? Who is he?” I ask to the lady.

“Was there someone? I didn’t see anyone over there. You must be mistaken. No one leaves over thete except…,” she doesn’t speak.

“Except whom?” I ask.

“Oh! I must be chattering a lot that I have forgotten about all of my work. Miss can you please take this way and walk upstairs and the tenth room from the right part of the alley,” she says and runs away.

Even she is behaving kind of weird right now? What the hell is wrong with everyone over here?

I take the slow steps as I walk towards the upper story of the house. I don’t know who called me but this is really shocking me like hell.

Even a good dream like this is scary when it comes suddenly to people like me. I haven’t even dreamt about a place like this. I keep on walking to the tenth room from the alley and after walking for couple of minutes, I find it.

I knock at the door and a voice calls in. It is the voice of the lady.

“Get in,” she says and I enter in an unknown place oblivious of so many things happening around me.

“Get a seat Miss Todd,” she says. She is standing in front of the window showing her back to me. I have never seen such a beautiful back from behind. I can easily guess that she is more than just a beauty from front.

She has a glass of red wine in her hands and she is observing the space outside the window.

“Congratulations on your birthday,” she wishes me as she lifts her glass of wine as she turns to me. It is true. It is completely true that she is beautiful and nothing in the earth could beat the beauty of her.

“Can I know why I am called here?” I ask gently trying to be as polite as I can.

“I paid your fees for the school,” she says and I don’t understand why she did that.

“Can I ask why?”

She grins as she makes her way to the couch and sits elegantly on it with her glass of wine still in her hands.

“You don’t know, do you?” she asks.

“About what?”

“Oh! You’re so innocent and I like that thing about you. I have paid your fees because you are my relatives from now on,” she says.

I just don’t understand her. What kind of relatives? How am I even related to a rich lady like her? Don’t tell me she adopted me?

“You adopted me?” I ask.

“You can say that but not actually. From today onwards you are my daughter-in-law,” she says and my eyes widens as if they would come out of my socket.

What did she say just now? Daughter in law? Me? What?
