Two

~Ivy~

"Have you packed all your stuffs, everything you need?." My mum asked me.

"Yes."

She sighed, "Please, try and socialize with people when you get there, I don't want you to be lonely." Her voice held sadness.

"Mum, you don't need to worry about my social life, being alone is safe, trust me." I stated.

"But try and have one or two friends."

"I will try." I lied.

Right from childhood, I always kept to myself, I was the direct opposite of my identical twin sister, she was bubbly, energetic and social while I always had the "don't talk to me" look on my face  ,although she was my bestfriend and we talked alot when it was just the two of us but everything changed when she died.

I couldn't stand the shock, I automatically shut everybody out except the people who consoled me, I mistook them as friends and then they stabbed me not at back but at my front, ever since then, I want nothing to do with FRIENDS, there's a reason why it ends with ENDS and I understand that reason.

"I love you mum, I will miss you." I hugged her.

"Jordan, take care of mummy." I told my 17 year old brother.

"I will, take care, sis."

"Call me when you get there, please take care of yourself." My mum shouted as I got into the car.

"I will." I waved them as we drove off.

Our driver dropped me off at the airport, I boarded the plane and fell asleep because it was a long flight, I woke up when I heard the pilot's announcement of our safe landing, I waited for the chauffeur that my mum hired to come and get me from the airport, he dropped me at campus.

"There will surely be human snakes in here." I mumbled to myself as I used human snakes as a metaphor for snitches and betrayers.

I started searching for my room.

"Room 62b."

I looked at every room's number as I searched for mine, jt was such a big hall of residence.

I got to room 61a and I noticed that was the last number for the block and room 62 was probably in another block that was at the other end.

"Seriously?." I was obviously frustrated, I had to climb stairs with my bags.

"HI, Good Morning."A petite blonde haired girl greeted me.

"Good Morning."

"What's the problem?." She asked with concern.

"I'm looking for room 62."

"62a or b?."

"B."

"Wow, that's my friend's room, that means you are her roommate, come on, I will help you, let's go." Her voice held excitement as she took one of my boxes and we rolled it to our room.

"So, what's your name?." She grinned as she waited for my reply.

"Ivy."

"Nice name, I'm Kimora."

"Nice name." I passed her my signature fake smile that looked original.

"Layla!." Kimora shouted as we got to our room.

"What?."The sleepy girl asked as she got up from her bed.

"Your roommate is finally her!." Kimora screamed in excitement.

"Wow, she's so pretty, welcome, I'm Layla and you are?." She smiled.

"I'm Ivy."

Layla wasn't petite or big, she just had the right shape, she was more energetic than Kimora and she was a brunette just like me.

"Since everybody is so gorgeous,we might as well just name it as pretty girl's room." Layla joked.

"So this is your bed." Kimora pointed at the down bunk.

"Thanks. "

"You are welcome."

"Let's help her set up her things."

I wanted to tell them not worry but I felt it will be rude for me to do that so I let them do it.

After setting up my things, I picked up my phone and called my mum.

"Hey, mum." I greeted her.

"I hope you are okay?."

"Yes, mum, I am and I called you to tell you that."

"Is your roommate nice?."

"Yes, she is. "

"Okay, good, I will talk to you later sweetheart, your dad is back, let me welcome him."

"Okay mum, bye."

"So what's your major?." Layla asked.

"Criminal law."

"What about you guys?."

"I'm in pharmacy." Layla replied.

"She's in accounting."

"Wow, that's nice."

"So we have a barrister in this room, the law!." She hailed.

Her behavior made me laugh, maybe these people weren't bad after all.

"Do you want to tour round?." Kimora questioned.

"Campus or city?." I inquired.

"Both." Layla answered.

"City will do." I agreed against my wish.

The girls and I went out and we had a nice time, I left them to get something from someone, I ordered some stuffs and I decided that whenever I resume school,I will get them.

I took a cab back after collecting the parcel, as soon I got out, I crossed the road and my purse dropped, the road wasn't really busy where I will have to forget about it because I couldn't risk my life because of a purse, just people walking here and there, I decided to go back and get it, as I bent down, a car came from nowhere and almost hit me, the driver held his break and got out of the car angrily.

I expected an elderly man but it was actually a guy in his late teens, he was a tall hazel eyes guy.

"You almost got killed!." He yelled as he walked up to me.

His eyes held both anger and fear.

"You mean you almost killed me because I don't know where you came out from all of a sudden." I fired back.

"You, dimwit, you are not aware of your surroundings, you can't just come of nowhere in a road, you are supposed to walk by the side and not the centre and if you wanted to cross, you should have looked left and right." He lectured me.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't expecting you to pull out of nowhere and I don't need some lecture from a toddler in a mature teen's body." I spat out.

He was cute but annoying and he was getting irritating.

"Ughh!!, I shouldn't have held that break." He vented out.

"You would have gone to jail, you idiot." I eyed him.

"Atleast, I would be alive and not dead." He pointed out.

"Just let it be." A girl came out of the car, maybe his girlfriend because it couldn't be the sister, there's no resemblance.

"Listen to your girlfriend and next time, make use of a horn to alert people that they are in the way." I stated.

"She's not my girlfriend, just fuck offf!!!." He walked out and got into his car.

He finally used his brain and horned for the girl to get back into the car, he gave me a deadly look before driving off.

So much for attitude.
