CHAPTER FOURTY

Finally, my peace and quiet.

Just void.

No thoughts to think, no needs to worry about, no shame to be so afraid of.

I rid myself of the world.

They are bound to miss me but after a while they all would move on. It was best this way.

"I need you not to die,"

A distant voice said.

That's funny, I am already dead.

It was all I ever wanted—not to be dead but to have peace. I had peace within myself and I enjoyed it.

"I am not myself, I don't know what to do if you're not here to remind me,"

There it is again. That voice.

I did not know who it was but it felt oddly familiar.

They wanted me back. There was no way I could return, I made things worse for everyone.

"Elizabeth please...."

The voice again faded to thin air.

That was it......

Immediately, I was on a path with two ends. One led to where the faded voice was, and the other was more of my peace and quiet. What I had always longed for.
