53. The Avatar of Wrath

"What does all this mean? What's your reason for making my mother a victim?" Abelard was facing Barend in his study room after waiting for his father for kore tto come home from the town next door for over a week. He tried to keep his voice from going up a few octaves, though an annoyed snarl escaped his lips several times.

"It's your fault, Abelard. I've order you to find women who will be sacrificed, but you just disappeared somewhere," replied Barend spilling the blame on Abelard. He was still sitting quietly while smoking a cigar. There was no trace of guilt on his face after killing his two wives.

"Too bad the ritual still failed." Barend sighed with a gloomy face.

In his place, Abelard was holding back his wrath. His hands were clenched into fists and his jaw tightened. Even though he tried to hide his hatred, the way Abelard looked at Barend showed how much hatred he had for him.
