The sun was blazing hot and she would have begun to sweat if not for the trees all around her that provided ample shadow. She looked at her wristwatch and it was just 1:30 pm. Feeling that she still had half an hour ahead of her, she decided to stroll her way through the woods.
Gerald’s place wasn’t very far away from her own so there was no real need for her to change into her werewolf form. She checked her phone again hoping to hear from Dominic about the Vestibule but there was nothing from him.
Sighing she pushed the phone back into her pocket and after 15 minutes saw herself outside her distant cousin’s front door. Based on the short communication she had had with Olivia, they had stopped moving around and decided to stay back in their home to let the kids feel safe and secure.
Valencia couldn't agree more. The little kids had been just tossed around from one place to other since their birth so it was good that they were finally home.
Olivia had expected that to happen but knew that she should never stop trying. Sometimes she thought that they should really take her to the healers but then nobody had dealt with a kid in a very long time. After the setback Sarah had received, she didn't want anyone messing with her health accidentally.Adding to that was the fact that Sarah didn't want to meet any strangers or leave her family. Being around unknown people would make her feel anxious and that wasn't how Olivia wanted her little girl to feel. She had decided to let Sarah take her time for a month or so post which she would take her to a healer if there were no signs of improvement. As such, she got up and kissed her daughter’s forehead and added, “I have prepared your favorite apple pie, would you like to eat it now?”Again, Sarah merely shook her head signifying a no as an answer. Her mother tried to be positive that at least her daughter was responding to her questions
Seeing that Freyge was okay and the hycwen would most likely not pose any danger, the wolf jumped up at him baring his claws and his jaw that was wide open. In one quick swipe, the claws cut through the hycwen’s throat like a scissor would cut through paper. A fountain of blood was sprayed on the white werewolfs’ faces and fur turning the spotlessly white wolf into a splash of red against white. The wolf changed back in his human form and quickly went back to help Freyge get back on his feet. The archon’s omega had shallow cuts and injuries and nothing to bother much about. Fryege thanked the young man in front of him profusely, “Had you not arrived at the right time, I would have been dead long ago.” The young man who looked no older than twenty smiled at him and replied, “But you aren’t. Now, how do we dispose of the body?” The archon had turned back into her human form as well and was studying him intently. She could have asked him to submi
Dominic and Valencia turned around to look at him at the same time. “What do you mean by you can help?” Valencia asked him ignoring the fact that he had eavesdropped on their conversation. Freyge was standing patiently on the side waiting for a suitable opening. The message he had received from the mage was important but he didn't dare interfere in the matters when two alphas and a rogue were involved. As such, he just rushed inside and began working on what was required of him. Meanwhile, Kyle got down the small flight of stairs and spoke in a confident voice, “I was about to mention my workplace when I was dragged to the wall.” He said while looking straight at Dominic taking a jibe at him. If not for Valencia, Dominic would have ripped him apart then and there. The two guys were throwing cold glares to each other but Valencia could be the least bothered, “We don't have time to waste, Kyle. Go ahead.” Kyle nodded
Fryege and Dominic had been huddled across his long table where he had brewed the potion earlier. There was a single leaf floating on the liquid inside the same beaker. The archon’s omega had not even touched it yet for the fear that it would crumble. As Dominic watched impatiently, Freyge took the leaf out and saw a question scribbled on it in a language not many knew of. But, based on the book he had been carrying around so he could discern the words. I have been struggling to come up with an answer for this one, he said as he pulled out the leaf from the beaker. Freyge warned, “Beware alpha Castro, the message would disappear in a minute after I take the leaf out of the beaker.” Dominic raised his eyebrow but didn't say anything, he had only expected that the mage would give them directions and maybe a time of their visit. His eyes kept flicking to the watch to check the time, he didn't want Valencia near Kyle all by herself. Fryege put the leaf ge
Clutching her bag she entered a passage that was lit in a dim blue light that would have made her nearly trip. Thankfully, she could see well. As suddenly as she had caught the scent, it vanished. Frowning, she looked around but couldn't seem to find anything. The bag was still in her hand so she decided to go and change after spotting a large sign of washroom. The washroom was large, well-lit, and had huge mirrors. She locked the door and quickly pulled out the dress, as there was no one around, she didn't bother going into the toilet cubicle. When she looked at her reflection in the mirror she realized she looked like a mess. Her hair was sticking out in all directions, her hands still had some mud that she must have brushed off against the trees while running towards the Vestibule. “Let’s change that,” She muttered to herself and washed her face, scrubbing at her fingers and cheeks to get rid of the dirt. She pulled out the dress and pl
The archon alpha stumbled a little as white flashed before her eyes, making her momentarily blind. She didn't know what was happening to her all of a sudden, the wound was still there on her leg but it had stopped hurting since the last few days. While she was still reeling, she felt the slightest prick of a needle on her arm. Through blurry eyes, she saw Caleb wave a syringe at her. He was grinning at her wickedly and spoke in what he felt was a seductive voice, “You are going to have fun today, honey.” At that moment something clicked inside Valencia. She had been leaning on the tabletop, clutching to it for support but she whipped her hand and it connected with Caleb’s jaw. Unknowingly, she had released her archon alpha status that she had kept concealed all this time.
Valencia swayed a little and Dominic instinctively shot out a hand to steady her. “Are you okay?” He asked her, searching her face that was confused. His hand touched hers and as if it was something alien she placed her hand around his chin and raised him up in the air. Dominic was taken off guard by her sudden attack but he recovered soon. Valencia would most certainly see him dead so he decided to pacify her. Meanwhile, Caleb who was watching from the side just realized how powerful the beautiful girl he had been planning to knock out was and blurted, “I…I am sorry, miss….mam…” Caleb felt that there was no way he would walk out of the situation alive. That made her look at him and she shook her head, her hands losing their strength momentarily as Dominic fell to the ground. Realizing his foolishness to have attracted her attention, Caleb tried his best to run away while whimpering and cursing. Meanwhile, Dominic
“What?” Dominic blurted out in shock to hear her say that. Dusting her hands, she replied, “This scum of a rogue said that to me instead of ordering a drink.” The alpha curled his fingers into a fist and punched him square in the jaw as well. While he had caught the pun behind the drink, to think that someone would even be near Valencia, and try to take advantage of her….his blood began to boil. Why was he having such murderous thoughts? Clearly, because he wanted to protect his archon. ‘Yes, that’s what it is,’ he told himself. And that someone was tied to a chair in front of him. Of course, he wanted to kill that rogue then and there. Caleb should have been thankful that the alphas merely punched him and didn't tear him apart because they still needed answers from him. After hitting the young man’s face, Dominic felt a little of his tension loosen up. Caleb slumped down on the ground, knocked off, taking the chair down
