Chapter Forty-Eight: A sad night

For hours the rain has been falling. My feet grew tired, and I sat down on the dirty ground not caring. The raindrops splash onto my feet and hands leaving small spots of dirt. I lower my head remaining to sob. My body jumps frighteningly each time the thunder rolls and the lightning flashes. Soon my stomach churns hungry. I raised my head staring into the rainy sky clueless about what to do. I have nowhere else I could turn to, and my aunt will never take me in after the lie her boyfriend talked about me; also it would look pretty bad on me returning to her when I should be with my mate the one who should have been taking care of me. We should have been taking care of each other but sadly the life I have always wanted didn't go how I wanted it to be.
