"Jazzie," our supervisor called.
I quickly put down the towel I was holding and approached her.
"Yes, ma'am?" I spoke politely while bowing a little.
"The guest has already checked out at suite six. Go there and clean the room for the coming guest," she commanded calmly and handed me the keycard for the room she was referring to.
"Alright," I replied sparingly and hurried away with the tools I would need for cleaning.
"Jazzie, let me help you," Ken offered as he greeted me in the hallway.
Ken is one of my co-workers, I am currently a housekeeper at a five star hotel. This has been my job for almost five years.
I smiled sparingly and let him support me with the cleaning tools. "Thank you," I said.
"No, it’s fine! It's just a simple thing," he said.
I just smiled and walked along with him. A f
"Why don't you just work for my company?" Chaos uttered.I stared at him and then continued to caress the hair of my son who was sleeping soundly on my thigh."I am okay with my job, Chaos," I replied. We are currently in my condo now. I took my son home after I picked him up from his house earlier."Why don't you just accept your former manager's offer? You are pushing yourself too hard on that job, Jazzie," he said.My lips twisted. I turned my gaze to the other side of the sofa.“I already have a child, Chaos,” I remind her."And?"I sighed and shook my head. "Being a model is also like being an actress. Many will get curious to look deeper in your personal life. If I come back, they will definitely ask why I suddenly disappeared then," I explained.“What now if they find out
"Erom," I softly woke up my son.He let out a whimper and then slowly opened his little eyes. I automatically greeted him with a smile."Get up, son. We will get ready for school," I said while massaging his hair.Erom is five years old so he is currently attending Kindergarten. My son raised his hands in the air. "Hug, Mommy," he said.I chuckled and pinched his tiny nose. "My baby is so sweet as always,” I said then I bent down to hug him."Good morning, my most beautiful mom," he greeted. My heart melted at the simple appraisal of my son. I have always been receiving good criticisms from people who admire me, but it really hits different when it comes from your child.I broke our hug and looked at him. "Hmm. What does my prince need?"He giggled and rose up from the bed. He hugged me agai
"It is not possible, Jazzie. You know that Stacey will scold the both of us," Ken said."Please. Just three days," I pleaded as I pulled his arm.Maybe he already checked out.We are here in the staff's room where we can rest or relax."What is the problem that you don't want to accept your duty now?" he frowned curiously.I stopped and looked away. I had been begging Ken for almost ten minutes to take care of the room which was given to me by our supervisor."I am just not feeling well so I need to rest for few days," I excused myself."Well, you do seem okay, I guess" Ken immediately said then felt my temperature on my forehead.I began to tantrum and clung to his arm like a child. "Please?"He sighed and combed his hair. "Just for one day, Jazzie. I still can't b
"You don't have work today, Mommy?" Erom inquired in the middle of watching cartoons.I smiled thriftily at him then gently cupped his small face. "I took a leave," I answered. This is the second day I haven’t gone to work. I immediately filed a sick leave to our head manager last time after I peeked at Valjerome’s record in the logbook. He has two check-in days at the hotel so I am sure he won't be there tomorrow at once."Mom," Erom called that caught my attention."Yes, my prince?"His earlier vision that was focused on me gradually twitched. "Can I stay with you during weekends, Mom?" softeningly he said.I was stunned and did not immediately say a word. I just stared at my son who didn’t seem to be able to look at me properly."Is there a problem, son? Don't you like to be in your Dad's company?" I calmly inquired a
"What do you want?" I spoke seriously when we left the office.I couldn’t do anything since the owner of the hotel himself decided for me. I can't refuse because I don't want to make everything more complicated. Why am I affected? I can act civil for Pete's sake.Who is he in my life? He's just my ex-husband.He stood up straight and lazily scanned me from head to toe. "You've changed a lot, huh?" he said mockingly.I feel like he was referring to my position which has changed."What do you want? And wait, are you following me?" I was a little nervous when that thought entered my mind.He scoffed. "I did not follow you," he answered and licked his lower lip. "Aren't you happy to see me?" His side lips rose."Why would I be glad to see you?" I replied sarcastically.&nbs
I was out of myself as I am walking back to my ex-husband’s room while carrying the coffee he asked for when Stacey greeted me."Here!" she roughly handed me the keycards which surprised me and spilt some coffee onto my hand.I just frowned and quickly accepted the three keycards she gave me.She really wants me to suffer."Make sure you are not making mistakes anymore, Jazzie." She widened her eyes at me in threat."No need for that."We were both stunned when someone spoke behind us. We both looked at Valjerome who's sternly watching us."Sir," Stacey said immediately and bowed slightly in respect, I remained standing because of the coffee I was carrying.Valjerome started walking closer in my direction and then laid out his palm in front of me. "Give me the cards," he said.
"Mommy, why Papa isn’t calling?" asked Erom innocently. He just arrived and that’s what he immediately asked me once he sat on the couch. We are now in the lounge of the housekeepers.I smiled thriftily as I was unbuttoning his uniform. "Maybe, he’s just busy, son," I explained.I did not want to show him that even I was confused as well. It's been four days since Chaos left. Our last conversation was when he said he texted that he would bring Erom to me. I also asked the driver who always picks up my son if he has talked with Chaos, but he also hasn’t received any calls from him. The last conversation they had was when Chaos ordered him not to forget to pick up my son.I had just finished changing Erom to a comfortable clothes when my phone rang. I just gasped when I saw Valjerome's name on the screen. It's also been four days since I was bearing with
"Who is your Mom?" Valjerome asked again.Slowly, Erom roamed his eyes. "She is my Mommy," he answered while pointing his finger at me.Valjerome looked in my direction. His eyes have no emotion but you can feel the cold there. With my trembling knees, I tried to walk toward my son."Who is your father then?"I stopped in my tracks. I tried my best not to fall on my feet."Papa Chaos," my son stated.Valjerome laughed sarcastically, but did not speak anymore. I took the opportunity to finally approach my son. I embraced Erom tight, scared that Valjerome might do something to him."Mom, who is he?" my son asked with his innocent curiosity.I tried to smile at him to hide the fear and nervousness I was feeling. "H-he is my boss," I replied."Jazzie."
