"Mommy, why Papa isn’t calling?" asked Erom innocently.
He just arrived and that’s what he immediately asked me once he sat on the couch. We are now in the lounge of the housekeepers.
I smiled thriftily as I was unbuttoning his uniform. "Maybe, he’s just busy, son," I explained.
I did not want to show him that even I was confused as well. It's been four days since Chaos left. Our last conversation was when he said he texted that he would bring Erom to me. I also asked the driver who always picks up my son if he has talked with Chaos, but he also hasn’t received any calls from him. The last conversation they had was when Chaos ordered him not to forget to pick up my son.
I had just finished changing Erom to a comfortable clothes when my phone rang. I just gasped when I saw Valjerome's name on the screen.
It's also been four days since I was bearing with
"Who is your Mom?" Valjerome asked again.Slowly, Erom roamed his eyes. "She is my Mommy," he answered while pointing his finger at me.Valjerome looked in my direction. His eyes have no emotion but you can feel the cold there. With my trembling knees, I tried to walk toward my son."Who is your father then?"I stopped in my tracks. I tried my best not to fall on my feet."Papa Chaos," my son stated.Valjerome laughed sarcastically, but did not speak anymore. I took the opportunity to finally approach my son. I embraced Erom tight, scared that Valjerome might do something to him."Mom, who is he?" my son asked with his innocent curiosity.I tried to smile at him to hide the fear and nervousness I was feeling. "H-he is my boss," I replied."Jazzie."
"Come on, Chaos. Answer the phone," I whispered as I occasionally bit my nail. It's late at night but I am still here on the veranda of my condo because I was trying to call Chaos. This was the second time I tried to call him for almost an hour, but the other line just kept on ringing and no one was answering.I couldn't help but wonder and worry about his condition. He is not like this. I am used to him always greeting Erom even though he sees him every day. That is why Erom is really missing him now.Did something bad happen to him?I badly want to call his parents to check him out, but I knew it's not a good thing. Aside from the fact that his parents don’t like me and Erom, that would be rude for him, especially when Chaos was at a family gathering.I need your help, Chaos. He has already seen Erom, fortunately, he acknowledges you as his onl
"W-What the hell are you talking about? Haven’t I told you already that do not disturb my family just because of your belief?" I tried to bold my voice. His lips formed a smirk. He slowly stepped closer to me and brought his face close to my ear. I almost fell with his action but he just grabbed me by the waist."You are a good model, Jazzie, an actress also. But unfortunately, our son got all my features," he whispered. "I totally believed on your lies. Even though I could almost see my own face in our son, I believed you."He slightly distanced himself from me but still kept his arm wrapped around my waist. He then stared at me."If the DNA test result hadn't come earlier, you might have hidden him again," he said and then lowered his gaze to the suitcases I was carrying. My face went pale after hearing his words. "H-he is not your son," I continued pretending.&nb
"Whooa!" my son was amazed as soon as we got out of the car. "It's huge," he commented next to Valjerome's mansion.I, on the other hand, could not speak and just stared at the house. It's been six years...Six years have passed since I left his house...I smiled bitterly and dismissed all the memories that entered my mind. I held Erom's hand tightly as Valjerome walked into his house."Mom, aren't we going yet?" Erom asked as we stayed in our seats.I shut my eyes and took a deep breath. Then I slightly knelt down in front of my son to face him. I gently touched his face and gave him a small smile."Erom," I started speaking. "You should behave, okay? I didn't like what you did earlier in the car. Didn't I tell you before that you can't accept anything from a stranger?" I reminded. The earl
"Pull it, pull the trigger," Valjerome said weakly as he stared at me.I did not move for a second, I just remained standing, still pointing the gun under his jaw, staring at his bloodshot eyes. Confused to the emotion he was showing.I flinched when he held my hand. He pushed the gun I was holding more intensely under his jaw."Kill me. You can leave my house at any moment. But as long as I live, you and my son will stay here," he said in finale. My grip on the gun tightened. The corners of my eyes began to tear up with frustration and anger."My son, Valjerome. He is mine. From the day you ordered me to abort him, you have completely lost the right to him," I said emphatically.Once again, he pushed my hand closer to his jaw and slowly shut his eyes. "I'll restore that right of mine. If you don't want to, feel free to kill me right at this moment."&
The sunlight was hitting my face when I woke up from my deep sleep. I immediately groped Erom beside me to hug him but I turned around immediately, the moment I did not felt his presence."Erom?" I panicked as I rolled my eyes.I stood away from the bed and then wandered around the room. When I can’t find him, I went out of the room."Erom?" I called again as I strolled down the stairs.I feel like I will cry because of the different situations that come to my mind. My nervousness doubled when I can’t see even a single guard around Valjerome’s house.Did he abduct my son?Did he hurt him?Did he...kill him?"Ero—" I stopped calling when I saw my son sitting in the high chair, smiling as he watched Valjerome cook."Oh, dear. You a
"Let me go, Valjerome," I said in a cold voice. He did not say a word and kept his arm around my knee."Please..." he murmured.I laughed sarcastically and looked up to suppress my tears. "Don't you think it's unfair?" I uttered."I know," he replied hoarsely. "But I am still hoping that you'll give a chance.""Do you think it will be that easy? Do you think I can bring my son closer to the person who wanted to kill him before?" I couldn’t help but vent my resentment.I felt his embrace tightened. "I won't hurt him. I just want to hold him, Jazzie." Slowly, he moved his head and looked up at me.His eyes were red as if he wanted to shed more tears. I admit, there is something inside me that is shocked at what he is up to now. The Valjerome in front of me was far from the person I used to know years ago who has no emotion and not cas
"Can I have this too?" Erom asked while holding a chess board. As a typical child, Erom joyfully picked toys once we entered the toy section. Valjerome assured him that he'll give him everything for free or should I say¾a hug in exchange.I have always been able to give Erom the things he likes, but he never asked for too much. Maybe he also knows how hard I work. Chaos, on the other hand, only brought him a toy whenever he passes by the mall, he has never take Erom for a walk like this because of being busy with work."Anything you want," Valjerome answered. My son smiled at him from ear to ear and then walked again to the row of toys where the medium size robots were. Valjerome immediately followed him, watching while there was a small smile on his lips.I just averted my eyes because I felt the corners of my eyes would heat up again. I stayed in my place and let them ge
