5 Tendencies

Carter stares as his boss smirks and steps away from KK leaned back on the bench. Carter was well aware of his boss's tendencies but at this moment was just fearful that KK would become a target for his anger. KK sat up on the chair, his hand clenching the bag strap, his fingers white.

Leo smirks and starts to walk back to the car. "Let me know if you really want to help."

Carter looks at KK, then at Leo and follows his boss. KK sits staring after the CEO. His back as intimidating as the front.

Carter and Leo climb in the car, Carter stashing the photos with the other evidence they are gathering. He turns to look at Leo who still has a smirk on his face. Leo looks at Carter and begins laughing.

"Boss, what did you ask him to do? He looked scared." Leo laughs even harder and nods for Carter to drive.

"He won't do it so It doesn't matter. The look on his face though...the best ever!"

Carter starts driving while his boss tries to catch his breath. He was seriously worried for the poor PI.

Mage sat down on a couch next to her father while the lawyer, they were with,  gathers some files from the desk. He walks over and  sits down across from the pair.

"I am afraid at this time, I can find no loop holes to eliminate the CEO from his position. The files he delivered to the police 3 months ago have put things in a very precarious place. "

Mage looked at her father. "Pa, why do we need to do this again. I told you I could just marry him and then we wouldn't have to worry. he would be under our control."

Mr. Shoten slaps his daughter across the cheek. "I do not want someone to control. I want to control  Pinnacle. There will be big projects in the near future and I want the money ."

Mage pouts, rubbing her now, red cheek. The lawyer nods as he looks at the two.

"I will continue to do what I can to find a way in but I want assurances that my name is no where near this if something happens."

Mr. Shoten nods as he stands. He grabs Mage's shoulder and yanks her up from the couch. "I am making sure you remain anonymous. We will see you next week."

The lawyer nods and escorts them to the door. Mage and her father leave the building. Mage stumbles out the front door as her father shoves her.

Across the street, KK begins snapping photos again and watches the interactions between the two. He wondered if Mage was a willing participant after he saw her father slap her once again. The woman placed her hand on her cheek, lowering her head. It was too bad KK was too far away to hear the conversation  or he may intervene.

His mind suddenly goes back to the request of Leo Shin. He was nothing more than shocked when he heard the man's deep voice in his ear. 

The request though...It was not at all what he suspected he would ask. Illegal, not in the slightest. It was ..how you say...provocative and some what controversial. It shocked KK but  he was considering it.

The father and daughter, climbed in the white limo and drove away.

KK pulled out a sheet of photo paper and closed his eyes. He opened them and stared at the paper, the film changing into a photo. KK stared at the picture, Leo leaning close to KK's face, a slight smirk on his beautiful lips.

A slight smile curved the corners of KK's lips and he ran his hand through his hair. This was so wrong.

Leo sat back in his office chair and stared at the photos from KK. He noticed two things immediately about them. Some of them were obviously from a camera, the colors and contrasts were highlighted by the shadows and lighting. Then a few of them seemed to have an absence of those two things but were extremely detailed on the subjects. Leo just assumed the camera had a different lens. He set the photos down and leaned back in his chair.

Carter enters the office with a coffee for Leo. He sets it down and sits in the chair across the desk.

"What's our next move with Mage and her father? We know he's leading the BOD( Board of Directors) in mutiny."

Leo sighed nodding, his teeth biting on his lower lip. "Mage has no control. I think she is a pawn in her father's game but he hasn't made a move for marriage, so his plan must be more involved in the company."

Leo turned his chair towards the window over looking Seattle. "I need all the current and near future projects Pinnacle has going on. I think he is intending to sabotage something to make it look as if I have made a misstep and have broken the law."

Carter stood to leave. "Make sure I get everything related to the projects for the next 3 years. He is moving fast so I am not concerned with those farther out. He will also want something big to make it look worse. "Carter nodded and left the room.

Leo slammed his hand on his desk, closing his eyes. He hated people that always acted as if they were owed something. He wandered over to the window, watching as the sun began to set.
