Chapter Twenty One

Kate searched Laurie's face for any sign of doubt or fear, only to find none at all. Laurie looked at her with trusting eyes and Kate was thrown for a loop.

"Laurie, I wasn't serious. I don't have to do that. I'll be fine." Kate says, shifting so she was now leaning on her elbow, still facing the smaller blonde. Of course, she didn't know how she would handle everything she was feeling at the moment, but she would figure it out. Laurie had just started to show acceptance and actual desire to be with her, she would not risk any of that for something as trivial as being annoyed by her scent. Even if it was killing her inside.

"But if it'll help you then I don't see why not." Laurie insisted, straightening up so she was now sitting as she talked. "Kate, I'm not blind. I can see this is bothering you, just let me help. Please."
