Larry was out of the shower half an hour later, still looking like a dead man walking but at least he doesn't stink.

"Thanks for gracing me with your presence," he smirked and quickly took a drink of his coffee when I gave him a fresh cup.

"Stop being a smart ass, sit and eat."

He did so and I started talking to him about the day I was away to attend his meeting, the clients that Larry was supposed to care for.

"You're going to make dad pluck you out of your sofa if he finds out before me coming here."

"Well, lucky me that Jess has a coffee date with your ex that you can sober me up before that happens, right?"

"One more snarky comment and I'm going to leave you and let dad pick up your pieces and mom scolded you and take you to all of her afternoon teas and make sure you go home with a future bride."
