They journeyed home silently without saying a word to each other as the car sped along the road. As soon as the car came to a halt, she stepped out immediately and hurried into the house, leaving him behind. He stood before the car watching as she ran into the house and he heaved a sigh and walked away.

She shut the door behind her as she ran into the room. She sat on the floor with her back leaning on the door and her palms placed on her face. She was no longer feeling dizzy and everything that happened at the club began to play in her head. She could recall Adrian’s monster-like face when he smashed the bottle against the boy’s head and her heart cringed.

She didn’t know what he had seen or if he had mistaken her for cheating on him. What if he comes for her and deals with her tonight? What if his old self resurfaced? She asked as she began to sob.
