Book 2 : Premise- II

I wince with her sudden cold words and try to look at her face, loosening my grip.

"What happened?" I exclaim.

She says nothing and releases herself from my grip, walking towards the bed. She slams herself onto the edge and breathes heavily. I can finally see her red swollen face, her eyes which have turned double in size. It's a sign that she cried for hours.

I rush and kneel in front of her as she keeps her head dangling.

"Iv", I hold her hot hands tightly. "Babe, are you alright? Did you cry? For what? What's wrong?" I panic, still trying to figure out what she meant.

She says nothing and starts sobbing abruptly. Her sobs have my heart sink on the spot. It had been months since she was upset or she cried. I never let her cry after all those incidents.

I get up and sit beside her, cupping her face.

"What's wrong? Tell me. Did anyone say something? Did anyone do something?" I nuzzle her cheeks and wipe the tears off her hot cheeks. Her face shivers into my palms.
