Chapter 96 : Stung

"Mama! What are you doing?" Chrissie screeches, making a tiny face as I shudder, coming out of my thoughts.

She's sitting beside me on the bed, drawing something with her brand-new crayons that she got on her birthday.

"What happened?"

"I drew this and you're not looking at me drawing. You're looking at the phone for so long", she pouts.

I smile and take her sketchbook.

"It's such a pretty butterfly. Just like you"

She giggles. "Thanks, mama! But what are you looking at for so long?"

She tries to peek at the phone but I immediately pull my hand aside.

"Nothing. I'll show you later. You should concentrate on the drawing"

"Okay, mama!"

She gets back to doodling and my eyes drift down to the screen again.

I stare at the picture. Since the morning, I have spent so much time on this. I don't know why I'm looking at it. If there was someone else at my place, they would never look at it ever again.
