Snow “Cody, you never told me about my job.” He looks up at me from his food. “Your boss is an asshole and so is your co-worker.” “And you didn’t think to ask me first?” I raise a brow at him, gently placing down my fork. “You don’t need a job, Snow.” “And why not?” I narrow my eyes at him. “Because you don’t need it. You can ask me if you need something.” He says and picks up his glass of juice. “Don’t be ridiculous. I want to work. I want my own money, not yours. I’m not your wife or your girlfriend who can depend on your for her needs.” He smirks at me. “Cody, I’m serious. If you don’t want me snooping around because I’m idle, then I’ll have to find myself a job.” “I’ll let you work with the Police, if you agree not to do anything stupid. You’ll be under their protection at least.” He says after deep thinking of what I said to him. I beam at him. “Are you serious?” he nods. “Well, I wanted to work alone, but I’ll take it. Thank you so much, Cody.” “Don’t mention it. What w
Snow Damn dream. If it actually happened, then I’d be a cruel and heartless person. Realizing that I’ve arrived at Lee’s apartment building, I rush out of the car. I want to meet with him and talk to him before I leave for France tomorrow. I can’t just leave without patching things up with him first. That would very wrong. I ride the elevator to his floor. Panting because I ran to catch the elevator before the doors closed, I lean against the elevator wall behind me. My heart beating very fast, almost making its way out of my chest. I’m so nervous, wondering how this is gonna go. Is he going to take it well? I won’t blame him if he doesn’t. I ring Lee’s doorbell so many times, but he isn’t coming out. Just when I’m about to dial his number and call him, he opens his front door. He’s shirtless with ruffled hair, and toned abs that I can’t stop looking at, but I’m gonna have to. I slowly move my head, averting my gaze to meet his green eyes that are dark, but mesmerizing. “Snow?”
Cody I run to Snow’s side immediately she steps out of the elevator. Her eyes are red and swollen, and her face is flushed from crying too much. I take it that things didn’t go well between Lee and Snow. Now, I feel like a coward, not going up there with Snow. “Snow, I’m so sorry.” I hug her tight as she cries into my chest. “No. this is all my fault. If only I had told Lee earlier, Kesha wouldn’t have been able to cause any problems.” On hearing this, I instantly pull Snow back to look at her. “Wait. What are you talking about? What did Kesha do?” “Before Kesha pushed me off the balcony,” She hiccups. “I provoked her by telling her that we kissed and that you said you have feelings for me. I didn’t think she would tell Lee after what she did to me. It never came to mind. Lee heard this from Kesha and not from me.” She sobs while explaining. I hush her and help her to the car. Once we’re settled in my vehicle, I assure her that I’ll fix everything. “I got you into this mess. I ki
Snow While I sat at the dining table in silence earlier, I was remembering how my past relationships were like. I remember that I’ve been in a lot of relationships in the past, but my relationship with James was different. I was in love with him. We were in love. But because I was selfish, things didn’t work out. I also remembered a few details I couldn’t put together. The more I thought about it, the less sense it made. James. Something feels off and I can’t put a finger on it. The little incidents that occurred, my burnt down apartment building, the encrypted flash drive. It’s something big and I’m sure of it. And as I’m walking down the street right now, I feel like I’m being followed. I take a quick glance and notice an old woman in her early fifties following me. She looks young, with black hair, brown eyes. Her facial expression changes immediately my eyes meet hers. Her eyes grow big. “Delilah?” She says walking up to me. “If there’s any name that someone who knows me shou
Cody I arrive at the location Snow sent me. La librairie Duquette (Duquette's Bookstore). From outside, I can see Snow and two other people at a table laughing together. Seeing her laugh makes me smile. She is genuinely happy and it’s good to see her like this. I enter the shop and immediately, the smell of coffee invades my nostrils. It is welcoming and relaxing. Every head in the room turns in my direction as I walk towards Snow's table. The old couple grin widely when they see me walking towards them, shuffling in their seat. Snow glances at them and turns to me. Then she smiles. I mirror her expression and take the empty seat beside her. The old couple whisper something in French and Snow giggles before turning to me. I raise a brow at her and she smiles before speaking. “Cody, this is my aunt Nicolette Duquette, my mom’s little sister, and her husband Jacque Duquette. They’re French.” “Oh really?” I ask and then realise why Snow understood what they said. "Then you're French.
Snow Cody and I spent the entire evening with my aunt and uncle. He got along with them pretty well, which surprised me but I guess it's because they're my family, as he says. It's nice though. I smile everytime I think about how he and Uncle Jacque were talking about architecture. Those two get along pretty well. Aunt Nicolette also treats Cody like her son-in-law, pampering him with tasty meals. My cousin, Andre, and I on the other hand don't exactly get along, but he talked to Cody as if they were old friends. I don't know but I think Andre used to annoy me a lot. I’m sure he used to be a jackass. But it's nice that Cody is getting along with my family just fine. Afterwards, we left and made our way to the Eiffel Tower. "The tower is very beautiful at night. The lights and the scenery. It's just so breathtaking." I tell Cody. He just smiles and gazes at me until I look away. I've noticed that he's acting a bit weird. Or maybe it's just me. I can't tell. I always catch him staring

Snow With all that has been going on, I actually haven't sat down to think about my feelings, whether I have feelings for Cody or not. But now as I think about it, I think I do. I can't be very sure. It's scary. It's scary because I remember I once fell in love and I destroyed what James and I had. That was all on me. I'm scared that if I truly am in love, it might not end on a good note. I might destroy whatever special relationship Cody and I will have and that will also be my fault. I don't want that to happen, at least not to him. He's been good to me. I can't pay him back like that. I'm supposed to think positive and hope for a positive outcome, but I can't. And I don't want to. Maybe I'll sit this out. I won't tell Cody that I might be in love with him. He'll probably get over me and find someone better than me. Someone richer and prettier than me. Someone like Kesha. Maybe I should just let Kesha have Cody to herself. Besides, we'll all go back to our old lives after the inv
