Cody

I arrive at the location Snow sent me. La librairie Duquette (Duquette's Bookstore). From outside, I can see Snow and two other people at a table laughing together. Seeing her laugh makes me smile. She is genuinely happy and it’s good to see her like this.

I enter the shop and immediately, the smell of coffee invades my nostrils. It is welcoming and relaxing. Every head in the room turns in my direction as I walk towards Snow's table.

The old couple grin widely when they see me walking towards them, shuffling in their seat. Snow glances at them and turns to me. Then she smiles. I mirror her expression and take the empty seat beside her.

The old couple whisper something in French and Snow giggles before turning to me. I raise a brow at her and she smiles before speaking. “Cody, this is my aunt Nicolette Duquette, my mom’s little sister, and her husband Jacque Duquette. They’re French.”

“Oh really?” I ask and then realise why Snow understood what they said. "Then you're French.
