Chapter 70

Cody

I fall asleep during the ride and by the time I wake up, we have stopped. I find Snow sitting on the hood of her car, staring at the house in front of us. Biscuit was also playing with a dog from the neighbourhood. I take in the surroundings. We must be far from the city. There aren't a lot of houses around. A lot of trees are out here but most of the leaves have fallen and covered the ground. And there is a big lake behind the houses. The air that hits my face is cool and relaxing. I get out of the car and walk up to Snow.

"Hey."

"Hi. You’re up." Her face lights up when she sees me. She flashes me a soft smile.

"How long has it been since we arrived?" I ask her.

"About twenty minutes."

"Why didn't you wake me up?"

"You were sleeping peacefully. I didn't want to disturb you."

"Right." I say and turn to face the building. "Who's lake house is this?"

Snow jumps off the hood of the car and dusts her butt. "It's my parent's house. We used to live here." She answers.
