Chapter 254 Oliver Knew

Everly had not said anything. Her eyes turned red at the thought that Oliver might be wary of telling her because he still could not trust her.

Noticing her discomfort, Oliver held her hand with both his hands and said, "Aunt Violet, I mean it. My dad misses my mom. He told me that Mom is sick and is getting treated, so she couldn't come back to see me, but… I knew."

Sorrow crept up his face as he continued, "I knew that my mom's grave is at the Westside Cemetery. I feel sad, and the others are worried that I will be sad, so they lied to me, saying that my mom is only away to treat her illness."

He kept holding Everly's hand and deadpanned, "So I pretend like I didn't know anything. I told myself that Mom would come back someday and that I should just think of her as being away to treat her illness. That way, it works out for all of us."
