Chapter Fifty
“Let me get this straight. You want to leave your pack and travel to Kane’s, even though there is a very real threat after you?” Cadmus asked for what was probably the thousandth time since I came into the office. I just looked at him with a very unimpressed face and crossed my arms over my chest.
“I’m not asking for permission, Cadmus. I was letting you know what’s going on and that I will be going regardless and setting things up here so everything is taken care of in my absence. I’m also not going to be travelling alone. I will take Brodryn with me and either one of my scouts or Echo.” I explained as I walked towards him and climbed into his lap, straddling him in the office chair and wrapping my arms around his neck. He looked momentarily surprised before wrapping his arms around me and pulling me closer to him.

I walked down the stairs with the bag slung over my shoulder and my shoes and a leather jacket in my hands. The plan was for us to fly to a rendezvous point, which was a decently rated motel, settle in for the night and once Echo got to us we’d leave in the truck in the morning. I watched from inside the shower as Brodryn stripped out of his clothes and stalked across the floor towards me, stepping into the shower and closing the curtain behind him, immediately the temperature rising from the heat he naturally generated. I stayed under the water and made sure I was fully wet before I switched positions with him, both of us careful not to touch one another just yet, the mutual restriction just adding to the building tension. While he got himself wet I made sure to soap every inch of my body, taking my time and shivering from the low rumble emitting from Brodryns chest as he watched me.Once more we switched positions as I rinsed the soap from my body and he scrubbed his skin. I woke in the morning to the feel of light kisses on my neck and warm arms pulling me close to a heated chest. I hummed in contentment as I turned in his arms, burrowing my face into his chest and kissing the skin over his heart. “Good morning, beautiful.” Brodryn murmured as he kissed me, his voice deeper and laced with sleep. I chuckled and kissed him back softly before stretching and groaning from how good it felt. “What time are we heading out?” I ask as I look over to Echo’s bed and don’t see him but the shower is running so he’s still in the room. “Once we’re all ready and have everything together we’ll head out. You need to eat since flying took a lot out of you last night. So while you shower I will go and get us some food while Echo stays in here with you.” He explained as he stood up and started to pull on his clothes, sitting on the bed as he put his shoes on and smiled at me as I pulled his hair back and braided it down his back, a happy rumble coming from his chest.

I looked around the space in awe, it was open concept and beautifully set up. There was a nice clean entranceway that opened up into a spacious living room with cream coloured couches, a navy blue coloured recliner chair, pale grey walls with one navy blue accent wall that was decorated with a collage, a large tv over an electric fireplace, and a huge window that overlooked the side of the house and it was a nice view. The kitchen was just to the side of the living room and it was amazing. The large stove, butcher block countertops, the stainless steel appliances and all the cabinetry were a nice navy blue colour with brass handles. It was to die for. I was so jealous of his kitchen and I knew Gram would have been for sure as well. I walked through the space and came to a home office that was decorated with shades of grey and cream and some navy accents like the curtains and a few comfy chairs on the other side of the black wood desk. I stirred in the morning and sighed as I felt the warm body pressed to my back and smiled as I was enveloped in the combined scents of Kane and Magnus. Feeling only one body in bed with me had me opening my eyes and seeing Kane’s side of the bed empty and a small note on his pillow. I reached over and looked at his neat cursive and felt a spark of silly jealousy, my chicken scratch would never be this nice. : Babe, I had some things that required my attention since I’ve been gone for a while. I walked into the bedroom and stripped out of my clothes, smiling to myself as I could hear them getting closer. I went into the shower and turned the water on hot, stepping in and letting it soothe my skin. I felt it the moment they entered the bathroom, the atmosphere shifting to something carnal and heavy. I turned to face them as I stayed under one of the shower heads in this huge walk-in glass shower, running my hands through my hair as I watched them stalk towards me naked and ready. I sat with Mira in the silence of my office until a young girl who worked in the kitchen knocked on the door and came in with a cart that had tea and snacks for us. I thanked her as she set up everything on the coffee table before leaving the room. I walked into the suite and found my men lounging on the couch in a very relaxed and domesticated manner. Kane was just in sweats and he sat in the corner of the sectional going over a few papers from a folder, a small frown of concentration on his face. Magnus was just in his soft black lounge pants and was on the recliner part of the sectional with a book in his hand and a cup of tea beside him on the coffee table. I smiled fondly before I made my way into the bedroom to change into something more comfortable. I stripped out of the pants and set them aside before finding a pair of lavender athletic short shorts and slipped them on, deciding to keep my crop long sleeved shirt on and instead just took off my bra, sighing in relief as the contraption was gone.
